  • Colorful, simple step by step instructions.
Format: Paperback
Excellent book! I was a music and computer school teacher for 23 years and the methods of teaching in this little book is excellent! It not only shows the children how to play each note of each song but also the strumming pattern. In addition, it has blank pages with the circle area for you to make up your own chord sheets. If you go to the author’s website she sells the lessons on video. I had to return it cause a used one was sent in error and two pages of stickers were missing. I will order a new one. ... show more

  • Best Book for Kids
Format: Paperback
Best book for kids. Great pictures and easy explanations. Good for parents to read and help kids follow the practice activities and games. Gets you playing on day one. I would highly recommend for any family who does not read music. I am a music teacher, and I love it, too. Great teaching suggestions and stickers for the fingerings. Unlike some very dry books, this one is fun! It is truly for beginners, though. No instructions for playing single notes, only chords. If you already play, skip this one. I especially like this one for elementary aged students and even some musically predisposed PreK. ... show more

  • Good beginner ukulele book for kids
Format: Paperback
I teach private music lessons and am currently using this book with a beginner student (9 years old). I feel like this book is a good pace, is written simply and with lots of colors, and has fun activities to make learning different chords easier. My main wish that would bring this up to 5 stars is that this book with incorporate learning some of the individual notes of the ukulele rather than just strings. Otherwise, it works well! ... show more

  • Ukulele book
Format: Paperback
I bought 2 books for my granddaughters. I gave them ukuleles for Christmas and needed an instruction book that was easy for a 6 and 8 year old. The book is very easy to understand and the girls had no problem understanding the directions. I would buy it again.

  • Short but motivating
Format: Paperback
I'm not a kid but found good value in this book. There's not a tons of content but it's enough to get going and not be overwhelmed. I like the little stickers which you can use to label 4 popular chords on your fret board. I can play tons of pop music with just these four chords, so that's a win!

  • Cute
Format: Paperback
I got this for my 9 year old granddaughter. I also got her a ukulele for Christmas, as it was one of her requests. She does not already know how to play it, so I am hoping the book will be helpful. It looks simple, and other reviews were positive, so I am hoping it will work out.
