I originally purchased this for my son who is 5. But when I put it together I kinda had to shift the gift to my daughter who is 18mo. Ask if my kids love to play with this as it makes good sound without feeling like an in person touch concert. I love that it's lightweight and not full metal. It took my teen about 20min to put it together. Overall not bad. Im not sure if I would say it's for over 4 but aside from the short seat, this is a crowd pleaser. This is definitely a cute little drum set. It's pretty small but delicate. So it's toddler size but not toddler strong. It's easy to put together but the bass drum pedal falls off easily. The drum covers are kind of thin and I worry won't last long.

Putting it together wasn't difficult (per my husband). There are also videos on the product page, one from the seller and one from a customer. A great plus is the price. Today it is at $40, but with $10 off coupon. Our family's just-turned-3-year-old is into using his toy guitar and microphone and "performing" rock songs. He's been using a baby's drumset so thought this step-up to something his size, and for not a lot of money, would be ideal. It does look great, and he's going to be super excited when he sees it, but it's small in proportion. Get out a ruler. The 7" stool is so small and lightweight and tippy you need to keep an eye on it. You might have to confiscate it for safety reasons. The drums all sound the same, but he won't care. The cymbal will get the greatest use I'm sure (remove the green protective film). I'm taking it down to 3 stars because it is small for the advertised 3, 4 & 5-year old. But honestly, he's not going to care, and if in six months he really shows some musical interest, we can move up to something else. ... show more

Came with some scratches. I am not worried to much about the scratches as I’m sure the kid will bang it up a bit. But this is a great gift for a kid. To be able to give him a dum set without having to actually buy a real one. He loves it.

I got this thinking OH something perfect to give my grandson who is 4 years old. And a plus that he can drive his mom nuts haha. It is cute, a nice toy because that is what this is. Don't expect super fancy or made to last a long time because it's not going to. Make sure to remove the clear plastic also on the cymble if you want full sound. Now the bad part... It's super small maybe made for 2 year olds or even less. Well, the chair that it comes with... Perhaps using a different toddler chair would help it to be good for older kids. I don't think the price is bad for all the things you get. Great gift for those little ones in your life. ... show more
