although this riding toy is the perfect speed for a 2 year old and it's easy to steer, as of yesterday this riding toy won't go forward only backward. So now, I'm going to have to figure out what is wrong with it. OMG

I had read some review that this ATV toy didn't work well in grass, but it did in my yard! My 3-year old grandson covered every inch of my backyard many times over, and figured out all the controls very quickly! He was in heaven and did not want to come inside even for dinner. The shipping box was a wreck, parts inside were everywhere, as if it had been returned from oanother customer and then shipped to us! My husband still assembled it and we charged the battery all night, but the toy wouldn't turn on. All connectections were checked that they were secure, but it doesn't work! Battery must have been damaged during shipment or its defective! What a pain to have to return it! UPDATE! Amazon customer service call: so I don't have to return the whole 4-wheeler, Amazon told me to purchase a replacement battery and then Amazon would credit back the full amount of the replacement battery. Now, I just have to wait to see if the new battery works. If not or the battery isn't the issue, I'll have to unassembled it, put it back in the LARGE box and return it! I was worried that the “gas” was a foot peddle and not a thumb button but it was a non issue and she figured it out quickly. I was concerned she would just stand on it and not know how to stop, but it goes as slow as I walk so she didn’t get far anyway. It fits my less than 2 year old just fine, not too big at all. Based on some of the negative reviews I had read, this was way easier to assemble than some of the reviews had lead me to believe. It took my husband and I 30 minutes to put together. My children love it and its pretty light weight.

    • Not for grass
This caterpillar quad is cute but I returned it as it really does not do well on grass and my grandkids mostly play in the backyard which is lawn. Also is too small for my grandaon who is just turning 3. Good for 2 or smaller 3 y.o. on smooth surfaces.
