  • Faster than the originals, but lots of fun!
This was a gift for our 9-year-old son. He loves it! He's pretty good at driving it around and loves to make it do crazy things. AND...thus far it seems very sturdy (though it's only been a few weeks), even taking a few tumbles down a flight of stairs! Some reviewers have noted that it is a bit "difficult" to drive. It's a simple system (both levers up to go forward, both down to go back, one to turn), but since the car goes rather fast, the speed makes it a little tricky to control cleanly. The controls are the same as the older generation of Morphibians (the smaller cars), but those ones drive a little more slowly and, therefore, a little "safer"/easier to control. This bigger Morphibian can get a little wild! It seems as though the difference is really in the speed. The other difference between the older generation and this newer one is that the antenna wire for the car still comes in a little plastic "straw," but the antenna wire on the new controller simply dangles (the older generation has a solid, straight--though flexible--antenna). All in all, this is a fun toy. If your kid is a bit younger, I'd recommend the older, smaller Morphibians. They're tons of fun and easier to drive. If you've got slightly older kids (or kids that just have a lot of dexterity or don't get frustrated with lack of precision control), these newer ones bring on a new element of increased speed and wild driving! We've loved both types, though, and I'd recommend them as strong, sturdy, fun toys. ... show more

  • Disappointed
Due to covid I wasn't able to get the gift to my nephew until after the return deadline. The adults were unable to unscrew the screw which covered the battery on the toy. It seemed the screw was stripped when inserted and tightened at the manufacturer. Myself and my nephew were very disappointed.

  • Looks cool, kinda rough to drive.
This toy is fun, it feels sturdy and looks cool. But its not easy to drive, the wheels are hard plastic so any hard wood, or non carpet flooring this thing gets almost zero traction. Also the control is very awkward to use, especially showing a 4 year old boy. It has two joy sticks, to move forward both joysticks must be pushed forward, to move backwards both must be pushed down, to turn right you push one joy stick up and another left alone and to more left its the same thing. The left side joy stick only moves the left front and left rear tires forwards or backwards, while the right stick only powers the right wheels. Think tank controls, or for some of you think zero turn lawn mower controls. At the end of the day the 4 year old loves it but cannot really get it to go where he wants it to. However with that being said had he been given a normal remote controlled car I'm not sure he would be able to control that either. Pros it looks nice and sturdy, Cons it'll take more than 5 seconds to show them how to work it. and traction sucks on hard surfaces! ... show more

  • ... this MEGA version of the cars has an absolute poor battery life
Just bought this little fellow and one of the older Kids galaxy Amphibious cars this MEGA version of the cars has an absolute poor battery life. I thought I just cheaper out and bought low end AA batteries. Then turned around and bought three "premium" brand AA batteries for it and it made no difference. Huge power drop in 5-10 minutes completely immobile depending on terrain in 10-20 max and I'm bending generous. Bought one of the smaller Kid Galaxy morphibians and no lie the little shark has been running for almost an hour 30 now with no noticeable drain. The Mega Morphibians look cooler but for battery longevity do buy the regular Morphibians, the Mega ones like this one have such a high battery drain off the three AA batteries on removal are actually warm to borderline hot. Good car just wow battery life is atrocious. ... show more

  • Fun remote control car
My son loves his remote control car. There is a steep learning curve (for a 3 year old-took a few months of showing him), but once he figured it out he has had a blast. He loves driving them through puddles and he loved the cool design....my son is really into dinosaurs right now which is why I got this design. I know it's not suppose to be a dinosaur, but with the way it looks I knew he would think it was a dinosaur.....which is exactly what he thought when he opened it on his birthday. I would buy again. We actually bought 2 cars so that my son and daughter could play together (the other one we purchased was the blue and yellow snake design). We have NOT had any problems with interference of the remote control signals. They have a blast racing each other. ... show more

  • Solid Four Stars
My four year old loves this thing. Only two joysticks on the remote (imagine controlling L & R tracks of a tank) and is robust enough for SEVERAL “accidental” falls down the stairs and then some. My only complaint is the description said it included rechargeable batteries and it does not. Goes through four batteries per change every 3-4 hours of use. Hard to beat for the price, just spend what you saved on AA batteries. ... show more

  • Perfect Christmas gift
My nephew asked all of for the same thing, a remote controlled monster truck... and you you know what? We each got him one, and all but one of them have to be constantly recharged... except for this little fella. I bought this item mainly because of the price and the apparent ease of use for my 5 year old nephew. He loves the look of it and uses it regularly, the controls are easy for him to use and the batteries have yet to be changed from the original set of energizers that I put in. The other rc trucks he got may be a bit more fancy, but this guy out lasts them all. ... show more

  • Love that you can use it in water!
My son loves this he has been playing with it for 4 months! He plays with it in the tub (while he is standing outside the tub) in the pool, outside and inside the house. Make sure to get extra batteries so you can replace them for lots of play! Our kiddo can be rough with his toys but doesn't attempt to destroy them. Ours still looks new and works the same as it did the first day he got it. My son is 4 and absolutely loves this car. ... show more
