The item description says 24-48 hours for the item to reach normal height/fluffiness after you pull it out of the packaging. They mean it. Which is to say, don’t panick if it’s been 8 hours and you think “Oh this is awful.” Give it time to fluff itself out and then it’s perfectly useful.

I use this as a floor cot for my sensory seeking son that will wear out a traditional bed in 3 months! There’s no bounce to this so all he wants to do is sleep on it and not play on it! Added some jersey sheets and fleece pillows and it’s PERFECT

I was hoping to have something, for guest, I could fold and store under a bed or in a closet. However, it's not that easy to fold and put back in the bag it comes with. It's also not that comfortable, maybe if we had carpet that would help but we have hardwood floors. We have to place my large yoga mat under and a down alternative feather bed on top to get it somewhat comfortable. I'm sure there are better options than this if your looking for a comfortable floor mattress or one that is easy to put away. ... show more

It’s really hard to find a floor futon on Amazon that doesn’t use memory foam. The traditional Japanese shikibutons that help with back pain are just filled with cotton, no foam, so I was excited when I read the description of this one! It took a couple nights to get used to sleeping on a harder surface, but now I wake up very refreshed and without joint pain! I just had to stack the mattress on top of some modular interlocking tile to allow aeration underneath it, since it gets humid without good air circulation. The company recommends 24-48 hrs to fully fluff before laying on it. Very important for those saying it’s too thin. I did lay on it for a second after 24+ hrs and it is comfortable for the price, can’t wait to see what full time will give. Will come back and give my stars.
