I bought this to replace my carbon monoxide meter, that was battery powered which was no longer holding a new battery. I also have a small dog who is absolutely terrified of the chirp of carbon monoxide meters and fire alarms. I bought this one and I am so happy to know that it doesn't chirp and I won't have to worry about her being terrified when it's on its last battery leg. I purchased this for my 80+ year old grandma who has very little smell...and was sitting in a gas fume filled home and had no idea. I'm so lucky she is still alive. We came up with the idea of getting one of these and putting it by the stove just in case she bumps the burner again. Only complaint is; since she has older outlets and outlet covers, for whatever reason this plug doesn't stay well in her older outlets. I had to put it upside down just to get it to stay on. It was easy to plug in at least. Seems loud enough for me but only time will tell if she can hear it well enough! Fingers crossed! ... show more
