*****UPDATE 3.25.16**************** After a year and a half, the KeySmart has just gotten better. I haven't needed to tighten the screws for months. The paint is really durable where the key attached to the top doesn't rub. I get lots of comments on it and have never had a problem with it- zero broken screws. One benefit that was unnoticed early on is that I no longer have to look and find specific keys. Based on how it sits in the hand, over time you get pretty good at remembering which key is which slot. By the time I'm at my front door, the key is out and ready. This feature is super valuable when your hands are full! I really love my KeySmart. ********************************************************************** Original Review:*********************************************************** This thing is awesome. I hated my keys jabbing into my leg throughout the day and was constantly trying to look for a solution. Some things to note before you buy - Car keys with plastic bases (such as those which have transponders in them) will not work in the KeySmart and have to be connected to the top with a key ring - My wife's Hyundai key does not have a transponder but is long. It fits well in the extended KeySmart but would not fit in the regular. - Assembly is not as difficult as some would have you believe. Is it awkward? Yeah. But, if you watch the video and follow instructions, it is done easily in a couple minutes. - With my car key connected via key ring, there are some scuffs and dings where the ring rubs on the KeySmart. It isn't a serious issue but the black has worn away and the bare metal is showing through. - I have a Leatherman 831678 Brewzer/Box S/S installed in mine and it works really well in there. - Over time, the screws will get a bit loose. It requires tightening with a coin about twice a month. - Many other reviews complain about the extension screw piece breaking. I don't have any experience with it occurring after several months and many break-downs and re-assemblies. One thing to watch out for that might be the culprit- upon assembly it does seem like it could be easy to cross-thread the screw. The parts are small and threads are fine. Be certain that everything is straight and aligned correctly before cranking down on it and you shouldn't have any issues (I haven't at least). Overall I really highly recommend this thing. It really is nice to cut down on the cluttered, sharp annoyance of a bunch of keys in your pocket. It's a cool little gadget than has a great function.

It had gotten to the point my.keys were just ridiculous, too heavy to comfortably have in any pocket, too bulky to cram into a pocket or hang from a belt loop. The listing seemed too good to be true, like an "As Seen on TV" type of shenanigans. I WAS SO WRONG. First and most shallow, it looks like a nice piece of quality crafted gadgetry. Not cheap in any way, I can whip my keys out at McDonalds or for a valet and feel zero conflict about how they might present. Noice. Also - The low profile containment is an absolute game.changer! Getting my keys off the old ring was FAR more difficult than setting up this one from start to finish. Don't be I timidated thinking it's going to be a nightmare, it went quick & smooth on the first try, all my keys now lie inside this toothpick holder sized gadget, I have my fob attached, and it was easy to organize my keys however I needed to in order to have the fastest access no matter what I needed to unlock. Sturdy, comes with everything you need EXCEPT you will need a dime or a flathead screwdriver to do a final twist on the fastener - there's 2 total. I used a dime and have had no issues despite putting it through a rigorous daily "dig to the bottom of the abyss " to find them in my hoarder like purse. I'm thrilled to find such a unique and effective item for myself, and also have them in my save for later for one click holiday shopping, DO IT YOU WONT BE SORRY. QUALITY + VALUE = WINNING

I love how sleek and compact this keychain is. I don’t have many keys but I bought the 14 keysmart model. I put my keys on using the black dividers. I exchanged the small screws for the larger ones. Putting the keys on. What a pain. Kinda stinks that the keys aren’t hidden by the actual holder. Not sure why they couldn’t have made it a little wider. That being said, once it’s put together and you don’t have to remove anything, it’s the quietest, most organized way to manage your keys. No more fuddling. No more aggravation trying to open the door carrying something heavy. Negatives, not sure how you utilize the multi tool options. Personally just can’t see them being that affective if they are positioned with your keys. How would a key wrench really work? I have bent keys already…keysmart keychain will not accommodate keys with funky plastic finger grips and what not. Only option is to use the keychain loop and key ring. Other than that it’s terrific. Small knocks. Love it otherwise. Will still use carabiners in the future but for other tools instead of keys. Very happy with purchase.

I have recently bought this product and I believe that this product works better than I thought it would! If you’re the kind of person who has a lot of keys to a lot of things, you need this product. The Key Smart Holder can hold up to 8 keys! Most of us don’t carry that many, but it is very nice to be able to have that option to carry that many. If you hate having those keys dig into your leg while going about your business throughout the day, this product is for you. Key Smart Extended Key Holder is a worthy investment and will help to keep your keys organized. This product has gone with me to work and has held up very well. It seems to be very durable and it shows no signs of rusting. I believe the people who made this product have done so very diligently. I have gotten this product wet, and as long as you wipe it dry, it will be just fine and won’t hurt it at all. This product has proven its worth multiple times. We all know what it’s like to have to fumble through your keys to try to find the right one, it’s not fun and it’s no fun. I no longer have to search through my keys to try to find the right one. Key Smart has made me more efficient now that I am able to go throughout my day without fumbling through my keys to try to find the right one. They are nicely organized and slide right out with ease. Key Smart is lightweight because it is made out of stainless steel; you won’t even be able to tell that it’s there. It is also made out of aircraft aluminum, which is a very strong material. If it can be used to build a plane, you can guarantee that this product will not break on you. This product even has a loop ring attached to it, so you can easily attach your key fob to this product. This product has worked wonderfully for me. Hopefully, you will find it as great as I have.

I’ve been using the KEYSMART Key Holder for several months now, and it’s easily one of the best EDC upgrades I’ve made. The build quality is excellent—solid materials, smooth edges, and a minimalist design that feels premium without being flashy. It’s held up well to daily use, pocket wear, and the occasional drop. What really stands out is how effective it is at organizing keys. No more jangling mess or poking in the pocket—everything folds in neatly like a Swiss Army knife. A couple of things to note for potential buyers: 🔩 The screws that hold the keys in place do tend to back out after a few months. It’s not a deal breaker, but I’d recommend checking them periodically or adding a dab of threadlocker if you want a more permanent fix. 🔑 While it’s technically expandable to hold up to 14 keys, I found that anything beyond 6 starts to feel bulky and defeats the minimalist appeal. I've owned a KeySmart for years, buying my first shortly after their Kickstarter in 2013. I quickly bought the expansion pack for that KeySmart, to accommodate the number of keys I carry. Recently, one of the posts for that expansion broke (the threads sheared off), necessitating a replacement. As the expansion pack is no longer sold, I bought a whole new KeySmart with the included expansion ability. Unfortunately, this new system is a poor substitute for the original. First, it's advertised as a "fourteen key" capable set. I get that YMMV for key thicknesses, but I couldn't fit my eleven keys onto the "fourteen key" posts. Only one of my keys is extra thick-- the rest are the normal mix of MasterLock, Kwikset, and Schlage. I wound up using two of the remaining expansion posts from my old KeySmart to provide the extra space I needed, which means I risk a second post/thread failure some day. Second, assembling the KeySmart with all keys was a challenge, as the male threaded bolts/rods are not fixed to the KeySmart body, which required holding the bulk of the keys on the male thread (which wobble around) and the last key and spacers on the longer-than-necessary female thread (which is fixed to the body plate) and carefully bringing them together. Then disassemble the whole things to make adjustments before repeating the assembly. For me, this was exacerbated by the expansion posts remaining with the female posts when I unscrewed them, so half the keys and spacers would drop out as the male thread was removed. The old unit was superior, imo, as the expansion posts could thread on the female threaded posts fixed to the body plates, so the whole assembly was easier to handle as the keys were stacked and adjusted. Still, I got the new unit assembled and everything seems fine. I just hope I don't need to add or remove any keys anytime soon.

I purchased this KeySmart key holder and a similar key holder made by a different company that was supposed to do the same thing.... The non-KeySmart was flimsy, metal used was crap and I didn't feel right giving it as a gift (I would have been embarrassed) because the device as a whole would not have stayed together. The keys would not have stayed put and the screws would not have stayed screwed (I would have felt responsible for someone losing their keys etc.), it only held 3 keys and no option to expand. The non-KeySmart product was also super expensive almost twice the price. Now, KeySmart is awesome. I'm excited to gift this and I am ordering more to gift this year as well as buying one for myself! The aircraft aluminum is genius. The screws stay screwed, keys stay put and there is NOT ONLY options to EXPAND but you can also buy ACCESSORIES ! I'm gifting these to relatives that have a ranch where they carry a hefty set of keys to lots of key-padlocked gates, keys to barns, tack rooms, and shop buildings and various truck keys... They cannot afford to lose keys, but I have no doubt that this KeySmart key holder is going to stay together, it's compact, and easy to use. I can't wait to add accessories! It's genius, affordable and MADE IN THE USA! Last but not least, i was not paid to write this, I was not given this for my review or feed back, I am just a regular consumer that happened to come across this product and I am super excited about a quality product! They make great gifts and are so affordable that you can grab one for yourself as well.
