I had previously written a favorable review of this item, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to retract that. I put the sickle to work cutting some tall weeds. Not very heavy stuff but the kind of stuff that I planned on using it for. About two minutes into the job, the handle snapped like a twig right I. The middle. So that's that. I do acknowledge the fact that I could have just gotten one with a bad handle. At first inspection, the handles seemed fairly solid. But it looks it just had a bad spot in the handle. Either a knot it some dry rot. Pretty normal for untreated wood. Now I still maintai. That the blade is decent. It was razor sharp when I got it and I suspect that it will resharpen easily enough when needed. I like to tinker with things so I will likely replace the handle with a good hickory handle so I know it's secure. Then I can really put the blade to the test. For 15 bucks...it lasted longer than it should have to be honest. ... show more

This tool is a wickedly effective tool in my garden, and on unwanted veins on my property. The blade is very sharp, and resharpening is easy with a simple file. The only concern that I have is that the handle seems a little slim for my liking. That being said, it is sturdy. It’s a keeper. Update...be sure to use a honing oil or grease to the blade. I failed to oil or grease and rust has appeared. Still an effective tool for me. ... show more

Oh my goodness I love using this outside in my yard But please do not let your child get a hold of this it is so sharp. It does the job and the weeds that were growing in my garden are now gone. Again very helpful. Do not leave a child unsupervised with this around keep it put away when not in use. Excellent product. Highly dangerous though if not handled properly. ... show more

I was underwhelmed when I first opened the package containing this tool. It is smaller than I thought it would be and looks cheap. Boy was I wrong. I immediately took it outside to trim some volunteer Brazilian Peppers and some overgrown Fortnite Lilies. Was incredibly sharp and cut right through several types of vegetation. It's Cheap!!! & Very Sharp!!! Effortlessly cut through the 1/4" twigs I have growing out of my wall, & which gives it value to me. But the metal bends very easily, the wooden handle breaks easily... so it is what it is.
