  • Great Keyboard, Great Features
Color: Gateron G Pro Red Switch
In the grand scheme of things, this is a bit pricey for a keyboard. There are other bluetooth mechanicals out there that are $30 lower. But by god, I'm a bit of an aesthetics freak, so I shilled a little extra just for the look of this board. The keyboard itself is wonderful. I bought this cause I was tired of my portable bluetooth keyboards breaking. For context, I use a portable tablet for taking notes and doing a lot of work and artwork. I bought other wireless keyboards, but they always failed in one way or another after some use. So I figured I'd buy something a bit more durable (now, I can't say much about this keyboard's durability right now. I never dropped it or anything yet). The features that this keyboard has are wonderful. You can pair 3 different bluetooth devices and swap between them relatively fast (Fn + 1 or Fn + 2 or Fn + 3). There are a ton of light settings, and even though the manual doesn't say this, you can lock a light setting so you don't have to worry about accidently hitting the light button and swapping settings (Fn + L + Light Effect Key; Hold until the entire keyboard blinks red, about 6 seconds). The windows/iOS switch is a welcome addon, since I've had a keyboard that defaulted to iOS whenever it booted, and I'm a Windows user. One potential downside is that there's currently no way to remap keys on the board itself. The manual suggests downloading an external software, but unless you do that, you're stuck in QWERTY. Not a deal breaker for me, but definitely worth considering if you're a DVORAK fan or something! Overall, this thing is nice and compact, and a joy to use. UPDATE: I spilled some water on the keyboard. I immediately turned it off and flipped it over and left it for a while. When I turned it back on, everything seemed to work fine. A little while later, I found that the entire top row of keys were getting actuated all together when pressing just one button. Luckily, Keychron has a guide on how to disassemble the keyboard. I unscrewed the board, pulled out the pcb, gave it an alcohol wipedown, put it back in, and it's working fine now. Long story short, I'm glad this keyboard's easy to disassemble! Otherwise that would've been a really pricey mistake! ... show more

  • Top shelf keyboard at a shockingly low price.
Color: Gateron G Pro Brown Switch
This keyboard is not the most expensive keyboard you can get, and not the coolest keyboard you could custom build for yourself. This keyboard is not the fanciest keyboard, nor are the key caps the coolest, trendiest key caps. This keyboard is, however, an absolute pleasure to use, with every feature anyone would ever need in a keyboard. Each keystroke is a pleasure, each mellow click from my brown switches satisfying to an incredible degree. The RGB features are fantastic, minus the ability to use some kind of custom configuration software like gimmick companies like Razer offer. But honestly, this software is totally unnecessary and if you care more about having customized colors on every key, you don't care enough about the quality of the keyboard itself. Personally, I just use solid white when necessary in dark environments, but there are flashier options for all of the epic gamers out there. The form factor is perfect. Numpad? Who needs a numpad? But I do have all my function keys and arrow keys that you don't get with many 60% layouts. Ideal. More room for my mouse during game time. Many people will say the frame is thick and requires a wrist rest. This may be so for some people, but when I extend the back stands and use the keyboard at the proper angle, it doesn't feel necessary for me. Despite knowing that the Bluetooth connection absolutely must have some sort of latency, It is unnoticeable to me. For reference, I am the type of person who cannot tolerate game consoles because of painful input delay that most of my friends don't even notice. I can absolutely tell when there is any kind of noticeable latency or input delay on any controllers or keyboards. I feel ALMOST none at all with Bluetooth on this keyboard. Actually, my only criticism of this gorgeous product is the length of the cable it comes with. For those of you with your computer tower on the opposite side of your desk or on the floor, you will struggle getting it to reach. Luckily I had a spare extension cable and adapter from a wireless headset charging cable that I no longer use, and it works perfectly. Keychron gets 5 stars from me despite the short cable. ... show more

  • Great Keyboard & Even better price
Color: Gateron G Pro Brown Switch
I'm actually using the Keychron K2 Keyboard to review the Keychron K2, it's like Keyboardception. I opted for the PROS: Wired & Wireless Option Multi-OS toggle switch Arrow & dedicated Function keys Build quality is superb (for a plastic frame kb) Great price to value Excellent entry-level mechanical kb. Excellent back-lighting Nice long battery life on Wireless Mode CONS: Frame flex Chonky boy USB C in an awkward location Not a true USB-C to USB-C connector included The Rest: If you like G Brown Switches, this keyboard is clicky, tactile and overall a joy to use. Admittedly I use this keyboard primarily in wired mode, but I did use it in wireless mode for about 3 days after purchase and it worked very well. I noticed an ever so slight keyboard lag while on the iPad, but no lag at all on the Macbook Air 2019. This keyboard is my daily coding keyboard. While it hasn't made me a better coder like I hoped it would, it has made me fall in love again with mechanical keyboards. The biggest reason why I even purchased another mechanical keyboard is the absolute trash keyboard that comes with the Macbook. I've tested this keyboard on the PC for gaming and Macbook for coding and it worked flawlessly on both machines with a simple switch on the side. The only annoyance would be having to remove the Apple specific keys and put in the Windows one if you're swapping often. ... show more
