Description

Music Moves for Piano: Keyboard Games, Book B - Lowe, Marilyn- - - Piano Method - - Piano Method - - 44 Pages - 7217 - 4 - Edwin E. Gordon’s Music Learning Theory is adapted for keyboard for four-year- olds and five-year-olds in a playful way that delights young children and parents. Children explore, improvise, sing, chant, move, and play duets and short keyboard pieces that use the whole keyboard. Preschool-aged children build perfor- mance skills, grow in musicianship, and learn that music is fun. These books are an excellent transition from all early childhood music programs to formal keyboard instruction. The accompanying teacher’s manual is an indispensable resource of activities, songs, chants, and improvisation activities. Series : Method Book Read more

  • Well-rounded YEAH!
Format: Paperback
This one progresses a bit faster than book A, so it works really well if you have done book A already w/ a 5 yr old. I've also used it for 6 yr olds that seemed to pick up things faster than the average 6 yr old. I've also used it when I've inherited students from other teachers who used what I call "push button" method books (place hands here & push). This curriculum is a hybrid of Suzuki, Gordon, Dalcroze, and Kodaly so technique & musicality and hand position are taught simultaneously. Activities in the teacher's edition lay the foundation for audiation (inner hearing) for the students, so the song that they are learning is already going on in their heads & piano playing becomes something that flows from the brain and not merely a push here & muscle memory bit. ... show more
