  • Very satisfied with this shade and brand.
Color: Purple
I am new to KeraColor color depositing conditioners. They work best with hair that has been treated with a semi permanent hair color. I recommend Joico Color Intensity hair colors. You can apply this to natural hair, though. The color is more intense on blonde hair. I would not recommend this for brown or black hair. There is a color swatch on the back of the bottle. This is very helpful. It shows you the typical outcome based upon the number of applications. To maintain a more intense color, I would use it 75% of the time. I say 75% because everyone has a different hair washing schedule. Use it 50% of the time for less drama and 25% for subtle color. The packaging was well thought out. The nozzle on the bottle was close shut. It had never been used. The nozzle was also taped down. The bottle was wrapped in bubble wrap and then placed inside a box with a few "air pouches". The bottle itself is cute!! It's white with a sticker label. So, if you leave the bottle in your shower (like I do) it still looks classy. The bottle is rectangle in shape. This is really great because round bottles easily slip out of your hand in the shower. The nozzle can be wound down into the bottle for secure storage. I like this because I can throw this in my gym bag and not worry with staining or spillage. On a side note, I love the bottle so much I plan to remove the labels and use them for other things. Now for the review of this product and the color. I found my results were closely in line with the swatches on the back of the bottle. The conditioner did not stain my hands or nails. You will see a bit of color while showering, but it washes away. The conditioner smells great. I applied the conditioner in the shower. I try to remove as much water as possible before applying. I run the product from the crown to the ends and then secure the hair on top of my head. The product stays in for 3 to 5 minutes. For the maximum intensity, apply to dry hair that is clean. Let the product sit for about 15 minutes and then rinse. For maximum benefit, wash your hair in cold water and wash only if needed. Unless your hair is super caked with product, apply shampoo to your roots and lather it up. Use your hand to bring the foam down to your crown mid hair, then rinse it out. There's no need to shampoo your ends. The product works as designed. The outcome aligns with the swatches on the back of the bottle. The price point is a bit better than overtone. I hope they expand the line to offer more colors. My only delta would be the detangling factor. I find I need a detangling spray for my hair, but I have curly semi-frizzy hair. I still need a hair mask once a week, despite allowing my hair to air dry 90% of the time. Keep in mind though the main reason you purchase this product is for the color deposit, which it effectively executes. ... show more

  • Excellent to Make Fashion Colors Last
Color: Purple
I’ve been using it for almost four years now, and it works wonders keeping my fashion colors vibrant. I dye my hair royal purple once every six weeks or so, and this stuff keeps it from drastically fading over that time. There is going to be some fading near the end of the six weeks, but that could also be because I’m cheap and don’t like using a lot at once. It says you can use it as a 2-in-1, but I always shampoo first anyway, and it keeps my colored hair fresh, soft, and vibrant. Plus, it always lasts me a while (probably because again, I don’t use much, and my hair is very short), and $22 is way cheaper than redyeing every two weeks, so it’s worth the price to me. ... show more

  • Smells awesome, leaves hair soft, but better for maintenance than a real color shift or boost.
Color: Purple
I absolutely love this "clenditioner". I'll start with the only con, just to be upfront. It did very little to change my color or help make it darker. I had dyed hair already, mostly red but with violet tones, a nice burgundy. The purple tones faded very quickly so I bought this in hopes it would punch it up. It didn't have much of an effect. That said, it is great for *Maintaining* color, as I faded much slower after starting to use this product. It has several pros other than the color maintenance. It smells absolutely amazing, and leaves my hair feeling very soft and very clean. Most conditioners leave my hair feeling heavy and oily, and I've tried easily a dozen trying to find the right one. This one leaves my hair feeling great. Even better, it does actually help clean a bit. I recently used a semi permanent dye of blue and purple (manic panic) which comes out much more quickly if you use shampoo. With this clenditioner I was able to skip the shampoo and still have my hair feel clean. It's not as effective as shampoo, as I can normally go 3 full days between hair washes without bad oilyness, and with this I max out at 2. That said, it still means my temp hair dye lasts much better, without my hair feeling gross. Overall, I def wouldn't use it to actually color my hair or even boost a faded dye job, but it's awesome for maintaining a color if you use it instead of or with normal shampoo. It smells AMAZING and leaves hair feeling clean and soft. ... show more

  • Purple on Short Brown Hair
Color: Purple
I have a dark brown pixie cut. I have been using this shampoo for a little over a month now, and am on my second bottle. It has made a subtle change to the color of my hair. Mostly you can only tell my hair is purple in sunlight, but it is darker and richer in tone indoors. My hair is the shiniest it has ever been! Also I really like the smell. A few things I have noticed: It tends to stick right where you put it when your hair is wet, making it easy to have a patchy looking application. I put it on dry hair for the first week, really working it through which used a decent amount of product and my hair is SHORT. Once I had the tone I wanted, I started using it like a regular shampoo. Gloves are recommended. I have never had any staining of skin around the hairline, ears, neck, etc. but it will stain your hands. I was able to scrub most of it off of my hands, but weirdly I had a French gel manicure, and it turned my nails a strange neon fuscia color that was budge proof till I filed the gel off. Also my scalp is a lovely light lavender color 🙃 but can only be seen when I intentionally part my hair around to look. The only staining I have had of fixtures like the tub and sink occurred when straight product went onto a dry surface. Using it like a regular shampoo in the shower was fine. All in all I have been really happy with this Klenditioner. My scalp and hair look really healthy, and I liked it enough to add it to my "subscribe and save" so it has become a part of my life now. 😂 ... show more

  • Love this product!!
Color: Purple
I am really happy with this product! I am a long-time Overtone customer, but their recent product change of Vivid Violet turned my purple hair blue. I was looking for a product to achieve purple hair that was easy to apply and wouldn’t stain my white tile shower. Keracolor is it!! It gave me a nice color, made my hair feel great, and smells nice as well. I am so pleased! ... show more

  • Overall good but WEAR GLOVES
Color: Purple
Bought this in purple but didn’t buy it for the purpose of coloring my hair purple. My hair currently has blonde highlights that were getting a little brassy so I bought this to tone down the brassiness. I’m honestly surprised that the instructions do not tell you to wear gloves because oh my god my hands were PURPLE. I was freaking out in the shower and even used a salt scrub (and my Clarisonic) on them with little success. After I got out of the shower, I managed to google a solution—rubbing alcohol. Took the color off my hands thankfully. The smell reminds me of grapes, I’m not sure if that’s color specific lol. It definitely leaves my hair very soft, even without me putting leave-on after, like I usually do. It seems to do an okay job at toning, I’m only focusing on a few highlights so it’s not as obvious to me. Wh My white tub is looking a little purple and my plastic comb that I use to comb the product through my hair is definitely getting purple but I think I can get it out of the tub and I’ve just accepted the comb is a goner. For the love of your hands, just wear gloves. *Edit: After further prolonged use, I’m dropping this down a star. I realized the reason it wasn’t doing what I wanted toning wise was that the purple color is way too warm/red. I compared it to my Joico Color Endure Violet shampoo (one in the red bottle) and the Joico is way more blue purple which helps tone my blond highlights on brown hair way better. I did end up leaving it in my hair for a longer time and it will color your hair very purple, so if that’s what you’re looking for this will work. ... show more

  • Awesome product, brought back my vivid purple
Color: Purple
I spent almost $500 for "big color" purple only to have it fade horribly within a week. I was shooting for lavender color. I used this product and POW purple was BACK. THe funny thing is when I complained to my stylist, and asked for a recommendation for a good color deposit shampoo, it took her a week to find a product. In the meantime, I bought this based on the reviews. When I picked up the product she'd recommend from her, it was the SAME product. I have found applying it wet does just fine, but if you want VIBRANT color, apply when your hair is dry. Comb through to ensure even distribution. You should wear gloves though it won't stain too horribly bad for too long. For full disclosure, my hair was bleached to a light blond before the stylist applied the original purple so it works VERY VERY well on my hair. In the roots area that I purposely had left brown, it still shows, but maybe as a slight pinker hue of purple. With the conditioner in it, it leaves my hair very soft and brushable. I still use additional leave in conditioner as I do style with heating elements. As I mentioned I was shooting for lavender, after I use the product, the color lightens as you wash so after a wash or two using regular shampoo (non-sulfate), I achieve that lavender, but I am also enjoying the vibrant purple. I recently purchase the pink shade of this product just to play around with the colors. The price point is great, so I would recommend trying it. If your hair is darker, apply it dry, leave it on for 15-20 minutes then rinse it out. ... show more

  • Actually works! But use it right
Color: Purple
I was highly skeptical that this would work yield a vibrant color. Still, I was determined to give it the best chance to work. I bleached my hair, then the next day I used a color brush and applied this product liberally to my dry hair as if it was hair dye. I wrapped my head in saran wrap and let it sit for a half hour or so. This is not a damaging product, so as long as you have a way to keep it from dying out, you could leave it as long as you like. I rinsed my hair and it was VIBRANT purple! I get compliments and questions on my hair color multiple times a week. It does fade, but once a week or so, I apply it dry and let it sit again, but I also use it daily in the shower instead of shampoo. It actually cleans my fine greasy hair as well as any other shampoo. I do have to spritz some leave in conditioner after the shower because it does not leave it as moisturized as most conditioners I have used. The results make it worth it though. It does not stain my skin or shower the way many other color depositing products do. This is just my favorite and it is also affordable! ... show more
