  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Washer
Style: Agitator Pattern: Washer
It’s great easy to use, fits a queen Comforter no problem. The only thing I don’t like about it is the lid Has to be shut for it to fill with water.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars First Time Buying a Major Appliance from Amazon was very Successful
Style: Agitator Pattern: Washer
Nice basic machine with no frills. I would prefer one that was even simpler where I could just set my own water level instead of the "auto", which is just one more thing to go wrong. I like that it has a flat metal top as we often store heavy pots on it. I didn't want glass or a curved aerodynamic top. The machine it replaced was a high end LG that only lasted 5 years. The LG has "smart" diagnosis that linked to a cell phone. This feature didn't work as it it just gave us an error code that was no help. Previously we had an expensive front loading Maytag that similarly didn't last very long and had mold issues. This machine is similar to our older machines that lasted many years so we have hope. The price is low enough that I wouldn't feel the need to ever repair it. It has an old fashion real agitator center post and does as good job of cleaning. After all, the purpose of a washing machine is to get clothes clean not not to save water! (I could save even more water by wearing dirty clothes!). Amazon has a great price. I paid $588 at Sears and was told it was "on sale". The next week I kept getting pop-ups on my PC that the price was $499 at Sears. I called for a price adjustment and after spending a long time on the phone I was told I need to go to the store to get an adjustment. I went to the store and was told that the $499 sale was over and the price was now $620!. I even had a print out of the Sears ad at $499, but they wouldn't honor. Then I noticed the Amazon price was only $449, so I returned the washer to Sears and got the identical one delivered from Amazon for $449! Yes, it took considerable efforts, but I am now happy and saved $184. Sears also wanted an additional $25 to remove my old machine and $20 for hoses that I didn't want. Amazon removed my old machine for free and also was going to supply hoses. I didn't want the hoses because I wanted to use the upgraded stainless hoses that I had already purchased from Amazon. I originally told Sears I didn't want to buy the hoses, but they put them on the order anyway. It has been over a month now and we are still very happy with machine. My wife was very happy about being able to wash our largest comforter without getting a "balance error" like our old LG use to often do. This machine works hard and doesn't complain! ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Deep Fill only works on 2 cycles
Style: Agitator Pattern: Washer
The only 2 cycles worth using are Bulky/Bedding and Heavy Duty because those are the only ones you can use Deep Fill on. All the other cycles use Auto Fill which gives you VERY LITTLE water levels! So little that your clothes aren’t even covered. So I do EVERYTHING on Heavy Duty because I do full laundry loads and need a FULL water level. Also, LET THE WASHER FILL FIRST before loading any clothes because it begins agitating as it’s filling, causing the clothes to agitate when there’s barely enough water. Otherwise, I really like it. It’s large, nice tub, and it’s quieter than my old GE. I haven’t had any problems with washing delicates on Heavy Duty. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars I'm going to say I love it because it isn't doing anything wrong but
Style: Agitator Pattern: Washer
I'm going to say I love it because it isn't doing anything wrong but, it is H.E. which means, if you haven't owned an H.E. before, this will be a new experience. So, I was already using H.E. Tide detergent, come to find out. Who knew? So, I didn't have to go out and purchase separate detergent for the new machine. The display & buttons are low tech, no fancy lights, display or complicated computer to fail in a few years down the road. Has wash options, but not too many to make it a day long project to figure out how to wash a load of laundry. It has a nice, large capacity which is great. It has a steal (or shiny metal interior/sides of the drum when you look inside. It has white plastic bottom of the drum, looking in. It has the appearance of an agitator, which I really wanted because I didn't understand how H.E.'s are different from non- H.E's, and I wanted that type of cleaning action that comes from an agitator on the soiled clothes. However, I am wondering now if the "agitator" isn't more for dispensing the fabric softener and comforting "old school" people like me, maybe? Because, H.E., works by tumbling the clothing over each other and not by floating them in a large amounts of h20, the agitator isn't as necessary? I elected top loading, which this washer has, because I perceived that front load washers have h20 residue in the door that fills with smelly h20 after a while. Unknown if that is accurate, but that's why I wanted top load. The big shift to H.E. for old school washer people like me is, you cannot expect it to be "like" the old washer. This is totally different, but, I does a better job than my old washing machine. The clothes appear cleaner and they smell freshly clean. You need to put your laundry in the washer and walk away because if you watch the washer as it goes through the cycles, it will bother you. My logic told me there wasn't enough h20 in the drum, there wasn't enough sloshing and sound and movement and therefore, this cannot be working. That will be the biggest hurdle, the difference in operation of H.E. compared to old style. Again, it is cleaning better and smells fresher, so, the 5 stars. It takes longer to do a load of laundry on "heavy" soil. I opt for 2 rinses O.S. ("old school" again) so, that will take a little longer, but I'm keeping it at 2 rinses, my prejudice. But, on "normal" soil, it isn't too long to complete a load of wash. I am happy with my purchase and Amazon did a great job. You order the appliance, and they delivery it, install it and haul away your old machines without extra charge. The even supplied the H20 hose w/out extra charge. ... show more
