Today I spent about an hour and a half riding in 100° Texas heat on back roads, city streets, and highways. The jacket was comfortable the entire time and flowed much more air than I expected while still feeling protective. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm also happy that it comes with CE Level 2 (C2) armor, which gives me some extra confidence without sacrificing comfort. This is a no frills jacket with excellent airflow. Whilst it did come with some quality control issues included (which I'm debating fixing myself vs exchanging) I still think this is a great jacket for summer riding. I use this for riding electric unicycles in the 35 to 50 mph range and feel there's enough protection for taking a spill on asphalt. I would probably wear additional armor if off-roading given the superb air flow. For a 100 bucks out the door this ain't a bad deal compared to my other adv jacket which was nearly 5 times the price. ... show more

The jacket fits me well. I am 6’ 3” 215lbs, lean/ athletic build, and there’s not much extra fabric flapping around at highway speed in the mid section, a problem I’ve had with other riding jackets . It flows air well, not exceptionally well like the full mesh protective riding shirts/jackets, but it has served me well on several 4+ hour rides in Oklahoma during 95°+ hot/humid summer weather. The shoulder and elbow armor is of good quality, light and flexible, the back pad is just a space holder, will need to upgrade to CE level protection if you want back protection. I’m so glad I got this. RideIron is one awesome riding apparel company alright! Right fit. Comfortable. Light but durable material & fabric. Warm but breathable. Zippers are of high quality. Zippered pockets are well placed & spacious. For the sleeves, there are adjustable straps for the elbow & wrist that one can loosen or tighten to fit your preference given the particular weather you are riding at at that time. I've never tried a riding jacket with built in pads, so I can't compare. The fit is good and the jacket is well made. It has the zipper on the wrong side like a female would wear. The back pad needed a little trimming to fit properly in the jacket. The only reason I only give it a 4 star is because of the left hand zipper. For the price, I am very happy with it. ... show more

Nice product. Unfortunately, it arrived in a clear plastic bag and not the original factory package. Missing shoulder pads. Tried to ask for a replacement but was given only a return option. There is no option to have missing parts delivered or an opportunity to speak to a representative from Amazon nor vendor. Today was the first day I wore the jacket. I was riding my e-bike when my front wheel lost traction as I began to accelerate, and it threw me to the ground in less than a second. Although my arm is still a bit sore, the jacket got cut up instead of me so it gets a 5/5. This jacket is in the cheaper end and performed well in its tier. Since the jacket is damaged, I will likely be spending a little more for a jacket with higher rated protection. In terms of comfort, it’s definitely more breathable than a normal jacket, but I personally still sweat a ton in it. Based on other posts, I did get a size up. I’m usually between a medium and large so I sized up to XL. It is comfortable, but the pads slide around way too much. If I were to buy again I’d get an L instead. The material feels and looks good. This is my first day using it extensively, but the zipper appears to be sturdy as well and won’t get stuck or break anytime soon. ... show more

I'm 61 230 pounds. I have always had more of the slim Build. No matter how much I tried to adjusted the strap around the elbow area , the protection wasn't anywhere near my elbow!! Had to return. Sad
