Super quiet and LARGE. This washing machine is large and handles large loads. It is a rebadged maytag currently offered for HUNDREDS more elsewhere. I dont know about longevity but will keep all posted if problems pop up.Keep in mind that these newer H.E. washers have a learning curve and reading the manual can help out with that . you have to load the washer a little different and I am very happy with it in this short time. AMAZON really came through with quick delivery and setup and made sure I was taken care of when some damage was noted by one of the drivers. This product is reported to be AMERICAN MADE. EDIT...3/15/18 THE GLASS LID MADE A NOISE LIKE PRESSURE RELEASING AND SHATTERED SHARDS OF GLASS ALL OVER LAUNDRY ROOM . INCIDENT WITNESSED OR I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT GOT SMASHED OR SAT ON BY MY CHILD. APPARENTLY AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH TENSION ON LID. CLOTHES IN WASHER WERE RUINED. GLASS E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E!!!! Pros: So far: 1. Cleans well 2. Very quiet operation 3. Connections quick and simple 4. Has deep fill setting. (finally something to counter this, "the sky is falling" BS.) Cons: 1. Absolutely hate the lid lock 2. Open the lid to see what it's doing. (it stops) It's that quiet. 3. Drain hose is very thin cheap plastic. (Must watch this as it ages) 4. Did not come with water hose connections. Minus 1 big fat star on that one. Controls are simple but, take a little time to get use to them. Has heavy load for those comforters you need to wash. This could be a Pro line above. However, a 3.8 Cu inch washer should handle even this bulky item. Deep fill selection here. Last washer died after 7-8 years. One before that 30 plus through twin boys. If they'd only make them like they use too! ... show more

Thankfully, before I hooked it up and ran it. I read the instructions and watched a YouTube video on the brand. Both made it clear that due to the architecture of the machine it would sound different than other washers. They were right! Had I not done complete research before firing it up, I would have panicked because some of the sounds were horrendous , reminiscent of a transmission grinding to a halt, or the sound of sawing wood with a hand saw! I only noticed it during the beginning of the maiden run because it was peculiar. I found that due to the design, the agitator makes slow, small incremental moves both ways as it adds water at different times during a cycle depending upon what it senses, as far as water level and balance. After the initial shock ,now that we know what to expect , its hardly noticeable. The full operating sound level is very low. We are in love with it. I was concerned because it was six inches taller than our old 1990s washer and I was concerned about my wife having difficulty reaching over the edge and into the bottom of the basket. She reports no problem and the lid clears the shelf above the washer. Happily she reports almost no difference but was very happy because she reports that for our two person household she usually did 6-8 loads of laundry a week r but today the same amount only too three loads. we initially did a load of bath towels about twelve plus hand towels and there was no problem. It starts rather slow and the green sensing light stays on until it decides there is no imbalance. Initially it seemed like a long time because you don't hear water gushing in right away. YouTube has a video about calibrating these models by turning the dial a few clicks. The instructions do not mention this but it appears to have no relevance so far. She loves the fabric softener dispenser that is in the top of the agitator and a small bleach dispenser in the front left corner. It certainly does a good job of spinning out water. Things dry much quicker in our old 1990s electric dryer. It was packed very well almost too well. It would help to have two people to unpack it as the instructions show it set on its side to remove the cardboard pedestal. I didn't do that and it was a bit of a struggle to get it out but did. ... show more
