The hard plastic that comes originally in the shears made the hole to big for my ring finger. At first I thought these grip rings were too big for my scissors. Once I took the hard plastic ring out, these rubber ones fit right in. They added the perfect amout for my finger to fit comfortably in. Plus they are squishy so it added comfort too. These fit my Jason shears purchased on Amazon even though the thumb and finger holes are oddly shaped. These rings are flat on the inside where your fingers go, making a rather sharp corner that is irritating when doing a lot of scissoring. They are not soft, much less "extra soft", but do help in maintaining a nice grip on my shears. ... show more

(Updated) I am a cosmetology student. I got these for my Olivia Garden swivel shears that had giant finger holes. They fit beautifully but were quite hard. After some use, the silicone has softened.
