I was slightly hesitant at the beginning - these felt slightly heavy and bulky on my feet. Then we went to Zermatt, Switzerland and did days of hiking and suddenly it was like - omg, best shoes ever!! Very solid on grainy terrain and snow too - no slipping on steep paths going down, waterproof and kept my feet dry and warm. The easiest 5 stars and would buy again in a heartbeat!

My favorite shoes

These are the most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever owned! I was always a Merrell's fan but they tend to run narrow and tight which is not super comfortable for long-term wear. These are made much better and are actually waterproof! I personally LOVE the fit of Keens and the larger toe box / extra room for toes. It is great if you want to stay warm, have feet that might swell, are in them all day long, or want to be able to wear thicker socks sometimes. People complain they are sized too big but I disagree. They are sized EXACTLY right. True to size. You just need to get used to the extra toe space if you are new to Keens. I didn't have to break these in, and after just a few days of wearing them they are super comfortable. They look great and everyone compliments them. Perfect for hiking, rugged work, gardening, walking, or everyday wear when you need something more stable and waterproof.

Nice and wide, but has uncomfy bits

These shoes are wide in both the toebox and the midfoot area which was great! My feet had room to spread out and breathe, something that I've had issues with regarding other hiking/outdoor shoes. I will say that the shoes feel pretty stiff, but very stable! The build of the shoe felt very durable and the stitching was great. I took these on a few walks (~3miles) and the bottoms of my feet felt great BUT I noticed that the tongue of the shoe began to really dig into the tops of my feet! I don't have a high instep at all, so I imagine this issue would be even worse for those who do. The tongue of the shoe is very bulky on the inside and parts of the folding bit don't fold completely flat. This bulky tongue dug into my foot no matter how I laced the shoe and I just knew it would lead to painful friction and blisters. I ended up returning the shoes which was sad because everything else about them felt amazing!

Amazing hiking shoes- used on Camino Frances Way.

Used these on the Camino Santiago Frances and they were amazing. Non slip and great in rain. I trusted them and they kept me safe. I would purchase them again. They were alittle heavy to walk in but they were hikers and did their job. Was not a deal breaker in the least.

Comfortable and completely waterproof!

These were comfortable from the get go. I didn't need to break them in at all. I used them for my excursions on an Alaskan cruise and they were perfect. They were completely waterPROOF! My feet stayed completely warm and dry for every excursion!

Comfortable, sturdy hiker

These shoes have held up well during wear. They have very good arch support, sturdy traction and sole. I got them to test for a trip to Scotland. So far they are the best shoes I’ve tested. For comparison I’ve tried Orthofeet and Dr. Comfort. Keen are my favorite and will be going with me on my trip.

Women’s Sizing Way Off - too too big!!!
So I have purchased many Keen hiking shoes over the years & love them. I am usually a 7 or 7.5 womens. I had read in previous Amazon reviews that they may run large so I bought size 7 in these Targhee IV. Look at the pics for a size 7 compared to my foot & compared to a size 7 in Keen’s Targhee III! They are HUGE! First I thought I got the wrong shoe in a size 7 box or maybe a Men’s size 7……but nope, they are a Woman’s size 7 on the shoe label that matches the number on the box. Keen messed up with manufacturing this one in my opinion. The quality looks great & beautiful colors & they look sturdy but returning because I dont need clown shoes for hiking in the mountains unfortunately. (I’m reluctant now to even order online for this one since sizing so off).

They are beautiful and a great quality

These shoe feel great. I ware a size 8. But after reading the reviews. I decided to get a 7.5 which took the price from $117, to $170 and size was the only difference. That’s why I left only 4 stars. Up charge for size. No I just got really great insoles to put in them. Saved about $40 dollars that way. I work in a factory 10 hrs a day and I needed shoes that would help my feet and have great traction. These hiking shoes., seem like the perfect shoe for that. They do have some weight to them, but nothing to worry about. I love how they look and they look like they are made from high quality materials. I highly recommend these shoes. Just remember the insoles .
