  • Really not comfortable - too wide for a normal width foot and heel
Size: 6.5 Color: Weiss/Boysenberry
I really wanted to love these Keens but it feels like I'm walking around with two by fours on my feet. I have a medium width foot and slender ankles - my heel is not secure and I have to lace so tightly in order to even feel as though my foot is remotely secure (and it still slides around). The first day I wore them (not hiking), I ended up with a weird pain on the top of my left foot that felt like nerve damage - so painful just to gently touch the area! I loosened up the lace in that area but the pain remained for a couple of weeks. I was stuck wearing them for my two weeks of hiking in Greece and I found them to be pretty good for hiking rough/rocky terrain, though not a good grip if the rock/stone is wet. On loose gravel, they were average IMO. The toe cap protects well from rocky bumps and the soles protect well from jagged surfaces. I don't find them particularly comfortable in any way and I'm always happy to take them off at the end of the day. I switched the inserts for Superfeet and that has made a big difference, but if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't purchase this model. Maybe they feel better if your foot is more on the wide side and if you have some meat (fat) on your ankles, but for a 100lb 5'2" female with medium width and slender ankles - not a good fit. My normal shoe size is US 6 and I wear a US 6.5 in Keens. ... show more

  • Not Good for High Arches
Size: 8 Color: Weiss/Boysenberry
Keen reliably has offered in many models a wide toe box and has been a go-to for those who need that. However, Keen has really let me down with all these new Targhees because the tendon in my very high arch is pinched to the point of agony in these hiking shoes. I wore them for two days inside on a carpeted floor before I returned them to a third party seller. I can only hope they provide a refund and I will add to this when I find out. // I think I need to begin to use "Try Before You Buy" for shoe purchases. My home responsibilities do not allow me the luxury of driving around a largish city to try on shoes, as much as I would like to support local vendors. Constantly "remodeling" reliable shoes has become a nuisance for many of us I suspect. ... show more

  • Good value if you can get them on sale
Size: 9.5 Color: Weiss/Boysenberry
I've owned quite a few pairs of hiking shoes over the years but never had Keens before - mainly because of the price and the comments about sizing issues. When I saw these on sale I couldn't resist- I wear a 9.5 and ordered a 9.5. Right out of the box they were SNUG- had to wear a thinner sock with these than my normal hiking socks and could have used a shoe horn to get them on. My right foot is slightly smaller than my left and I really noticed it with these shoes. However, after wearing them around the house for a few hours - they are NOT uncomfortable in the least- just snug, but the left heel is sliding around a little. I can also feel the stability with these- you feel firmly planted. I think the snugness will be the key to not having a shoe that slides around on you once you get walking. ... show more

  • These fit slightly bigger than my other keens
Size: 9 Color: Weiss/Boysenberry
Pro: waterproof, good grip for all terrain, durable, comfortable Cons: heavy, run slightly big My husband and I have been using keens for hiking and work shoes for years. This pair is comfortable but runs bigger than my other keens. Got these on a sale otherwise I'd have exchanged for a half size smaller. ... show more

  • Great value
Size: 9.5 Color: Weiss/Boysenberry
The targhee shoes are a little different style from my old, puppy-chewed pair, but fit the same and feel and look great. Someone even asked me if I was a runner (No) as for the reflective stripes on heels and instep. I am pleased with the purchase, and the price was great.

  • This shoe is really comfy!
Size: 8.5 Color: Weiss/Boysenberry
I liked the price best: half price for a pair of Keens is okay in my book. I bought a half size larger; feels like I’m wearing slippers and still have the support I need when in them all day at work or sporting. I do like Keens!

  • Good fit for me!
Size: 8.5 Color: Magnet/Atlantic Blue
I have a hard time finding a shoe to fit my feet. It was roomy in the toe area, but I could get it tight in the heel area. I have a very slim heel and have a very difficult time finding a shoe that doesn't slip up and down when walking. I walked several miles the first day I wore them and my feet felt great at the end of the day! I highly recommend these shoes. ... show more

  • No need to break in!
Size: 11 Color: Weiss/Boysenberry
This is the first ever shoe baby any brand that did not hurt my feet from day one! This were the most comfortable shoes I have yet to own! Buying another pair soon as the price does keep going up but definitely worth the $. This shoe is made with high quality too.
