I'm disappointed in having to give these shoes a low rating but unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. From the bit I've used them, they seem very sturdy and like they'd stand up to a good bit of hiking/walking. Having bought other KEEN brand shoes, I wouldn't doubt this to be the case. The problem comes with how the shoe fits. The laces do not tighten well up near the top of the shoe. It's both too small and too big at the same time. Down at the toes it's too small. Any amount of walking, especially on uneven ground crushes my toes. At the same time it's so lose in the back of the shoe my heel is coming out with every step. With how poorly the laces tighten up the shoe, there isn't a good way to get around this. A half size up and my whole foot would slip out of the shoe. A half size down and I'd be losing toes. After a mere 5 hour work shift, and 6 miles of walking, I have significant pain in my feet and blisters on my toes. Will not be wearing them again. ... show more

This is my 4th pair of Targhee II Keens. I wear them as everyday shoes, as they have a roomy toe box and an adjustable heel, depending on how cleverly you lace and tie them. If you have never worn Keens before, you likely will need to size up and test them out before fully committing to a pair. I typically wear a women's 7.5-8, and I wear a 8.5 in these.
