I absolutely LOVE these boots. They are sturdy and soooo comfortable, and especially supportive in the ankles which I needed. BUT - DO BE SURE to tie an extra half knot with the lace loops after tying them SO YOU DO NOT GET ONE BOOT HOOKED BY THE LACE LOOP TO THE TOP LACE HOOK OF THE OTHER BOOT! I went down hard on a gravel trail after walking casually on level ground and realized that's what had happened. Since these laces weren't too long I had not done that, also having noticed that the lace hooks at the top are rather tight to even get the one lace into, but THEY WILL GET CAUGHT if positioned just right on passing the one foot by the other. Not at all the boot's fault, the construction and design are PERFECT, and I even appreciated the laces for their ability to stay tied together (another reason I neglected that last half knot). DON'T SKIP THAT PART! Be aware, stay safe, and enjoy the comfortable miles you'll walk in these boots! ... show more

These boots have excellent treads for walking in snow - good "bite." They are as warm as I expected them to be. Sizing is quite accurate (use Keen's "measure your foot" chart, it's better than guessing). My problem, which I discovered after a few dirty hikes and could not return, is that there is not enough room in the instep. They are too tight at the "break point" where your foot bends. It presses on the top of the foot, and pushes the ball of the foot into the bottom of the boot. I have average-to-slightly high arches and average width feet. I tried a half-size up, ordered directly from Keen in case the black pair I ordered was different from the blue/green, and to determine whether I had chosen the wrong size, but the same tightness in the forefoot was present in the blue/green version. Unfortunately, loosening the laces doesn't help, it's built in, there's a seam there. It also doesn't stretch out or break in. Otherwise, these would be really great boots. If you buy them, please pay close attention to how they feel on your foot - just under where the lacing begins. ... show more

Very warm and comfortable. Due to a medical condition I wear insulated shoes even indoors. These are warm and comfortable enough for all day wear.

I don’t have a very wide foot and these shoes were far too narrow. They were also SO stiff. I returned them and got the Keen Revel IV which is better

These boots are solid, great support and very grippy. I looked at the cheaper Columbia boot, but decided to fork over the extra $ for the deeper treads. So when I hiked in the mud, climbing over granite borders and such, they held me steady. And with snowshoes, they were comfortable and kept me dry. I accidentally got some water/snow at the top of the boot and that was the only time I felt a little moisture. But otherwise going through mud/ice puddles, they were invincible. Good with thick socks too. There was no break in period needed for these, instantly comfortable. I replaced the insoles with green superfeet and they still fit me perfectly. Love the confidence that I feel hiking in these bad boys. ... show more
