The best hiking shoes I have owned!!!

These KEEN Mens Hightrail Mid Height boots are fantastic!! They are not only comfortable but durable and easy to clean. They look and feel like tennis shoes but they are hiking boots. I truly cannot say enough good things about these boots!! For starters, the shoes are well made and sturdy. They have a thick sole and appropriate grooves for hiking. They do work well when walking on rocks or slippery surfaces and they grip well so you don’t slide. They are really comfortable and the inside has a nice cushion providing excellent support. They are great for long treacherous hikes at 6+ miles in rocky conditions and my feet do not hurt at all after. They actually have a sneaker feel and comfort level but they function like a hiking boot. They are the most comfortable shoes I have owned and they are super soft inside. They not only keep your feet dry and warm in the winter (cold) but they also keep them cool in the hotter months. They say they are waterproof and they really are. I tested this in muddy wet conditions, I even stepped in water that was about 1-2 inches deep and I had no issues with water getting in the shoes. They were completely dry inside. These hiking boots are super comfortable and I haven’t seen a nicer pair of hiking boots (I have looked at many!). These are truly the best hiking boots I have had. They are also PFA (forever chemicals) free which means they are safer for you and your family. I highly recommend!!

Waterproof, comfortable.

I have been wearing these boots on my (mostly) daily walks around the neighborhood. They are easy to get on and off. I like the flat laces because they stay tied better than round laces, though they are also more likely to become a knot when untying. These boots are a little roomier than my old boots (Merrill Moabs) but they work well with thicker socks and are pretty comfortable. I tested their waterproofness by spraying them with the garden hose and though the outside did absorb some water, it never penetrated to my feet. The tread seems good and seem to have good traction. I will probably wear then hiking later this year and will update this review if I have anything to add. Overall, I am quite happy with them.

Great support/KEEN Men Hightail Mid-Height Lightweight Leather Waterproof Hiking Boots

I'm not planning to do any serious hiking with these. I wanted to try these out for my walks around the neighborhood. They seem to be really well-made, lightweight and pretty good arch support for my flat feet. I'm a Women's Size 9, so got the Men's Size 7 and they're a nice fit. Thumbs up for now.

Like walking on pillows.

Keen has been making quality footwear for a while. I have had a couple pairs of their shoes in the past, and they held up well. These fit really well. I know that Keen has a wider toe-box than a lot of other shoe manufacturers. I hover around a 10.5 on most, and usually opt up (11) for boots that are only offered in whole sizes. -thick work socks, or heavyweight winter socks- For these I ordered a 10. I knew they run a bit wide, and for an everyday/trail walking/light hiking/clearing dead brush and trees on our 5 acres shoe, they fit perfectly. The soles seem to be fairy rugged, and the uppers are well made and seem to be made from quality material. I tend to go through footwear quickly, but I think these will hold up for a while. The thing that I will change, before they break, are the laces. Hey Keen, those laces are thin and have the feel of the "dress shoe" laces on my dad's old wingtips he wore to the office in the 70s/80s.... a set of laces that had a bit more "I'm not going to break if tugged to hard or snagged on a branch" feel to them would have been nice. It's an easy fix.
