  • Its a Keen-they make hiking boots well!
Color: Bison/Black Size: 10.5
As always, a great build for hiking. Naturally wear thick socks and change as necessary for a great "soft feel." Toe construction aligns with the heal which gives a very firm balance on the ground. No problems dealing with rocky terrain. Robust health and stylish.

  • Durable Long Lasting Comfortable!!!
Color: Black/Black/Black Size: 11
I bought a pair in the bison color way. Was simply looking for a shoe that could do everything. If I need to run for whatever reason. Be out in the rain. Drive my semi truck. Go get groceries. Whatever. These were exactly what I needed. I loved them so much I bought a second pair in the black color way. These are perfect. They even have speed hooks so you only need to tie them once. If you do not know how to properly use speed hooks. I highly suggest looking it up. It'll change your life. :) yes they are a little pricy. But for what you get. It's a very good value. These are great for whatever you need to do. I bought the all black pair because they seem like they'd be great for being tactical boots also as I am a firearms geek. AKA (Grey Man). I will come back to update this review after they've seen some wear and tear. The Targhee 3s lasted some people 15 years of daily use. With these being the newer more durable version. I think they'll hold up to a ton of abuse. Keep your eyes peeled for the update as I will be wearing these shoes every single day. ... show more

  • Great boots with bad laces.
Color: Black/Black/Black Size: 11.5
Very comfortable and should last a long time but for $170 the laces should stay tied. Unfortunately this is an often overlooked part of shoe design by a few companies I’ve bought shoes from, it seems to be more common with work and hiking boots though. My first hike I had to tighten my laces twice on each foot before I finally double knotted them. I forgot how slippery Keen laces are, it’s been a while since I’ve owned a pair but now I remember replacing the laces on previous pairs. I do like the way these look and once I get a better pair of laces on these they will be just about perfect. ... show more

  • Best shoe for a good toe box
Color: Bison/Black Size: 11.5
Love these. I only do day hikes but have been very happy with the fit of these. If you need wide sizes give them a try.

  • Comfortable!
Color: Black/Black/Black Size: 12
Keen Targhee boots fit great- my foot is shaped like the end of a 2 x 4 - it’s square-shaped. Wide. I got Regular size 12 and the toe box is like none other! It’s a wide toe box so my toes won’t be crushed and grow all pinched together and cause pain! I think feet should spread out with your body weight and provide wide stability and Keens provide that! Similar fit to Crock’s if you’ve ever worn those comfortable slippers. Also, these are waterproof. I’m actually not too excited about the height -it’s just above my ankle. Just takes getting used to. Keens would be better if they raised the height to 8” or 10”. But overall these are comfortable and good quality. Oh, another note: there’s really no raised heel- pretty flat soles. Maybe with an inch tall heel they sell even more. ... show more

  • Still not as comfortable as previous versions
Color: Steel Grey/Coronet Blue Size: 8.5
About four years ago, KEEN made a significant change to the interior design of their shoes, and unfortunately, the new design just hasn’t worked for me. Since then, I’ve tried over a dozen other brands, but none of them have been a good fit. I’m still babying my pair of KEEN Voyagers from 5–6 years ago, hoping to make them last as long as possible. The KEEN Targhee 4 carries forward this updated interior design, and it has its flaws. The fit feels loose and overly spacious, especially around the roof of the toe box. It also lacks adequate padding in the areas where the laces are tightened. Overall, the fit is far from snug, and honestly, I dread wearing these shoes. That said, after logging over 100 miles hiking in the mountains this winter, I’ve made some adjustments to make them somewhat tolerable. I added a pair of active SOLE insoles to help fill the interior gaps and started wearing slightly thicker Darn Tough socks. These modifications help, but the shoes still fall short of the comfort and fit that KEEN used to deliver. Interestingly, REI stopped selling KEEN hiking shoes for a while, reportedly due to an issue with the glue used in the Targhee 4. It was odd to visit multiple REI's in different states and not see a single pair on the shelves for nearly a year. I’m not sure if this issue has been resolved, but I haven’t personally experienced any problems with glue on my pair. ... show more
