Weighing 15.87 oz / 500 g (per shoe), made with durable, waterproof leather and featuring a moisture- wicking lining, the KEEN Men’s Targhee 3 Oxford Casual Hiking Shoe is built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. My search for some hiking shoes let me to try these KEEN hikers after not getting a good fit with another higher end hiking shoe. I wore these around the house for several days before taking them out on the street, just to be sure they were going to fit well, and the heel in the arch area. As advertised, there’s plenty of room in the toebox, but there’s a great fit for the arch and heel area, so the shoe feels great! I normally wear a size 11 in crosstrainers, and an 11 in this KEEN shoe worked perfectly. These make great looking casual everyday shoes. I love the leather, the shoes are easy to lace up to tighten them just right on my feet, and the tread has great grip. If anything changes after I actually go out on a hiking trail, I will add to this review. However, from what I’ve experienced so far, I believe they’re going to be comfortable and hopefully durable hiking shoes. I am pleased! UPDATE:I haven’t made it to the trail yet, but I teach school and have worn these to school several days… Today I realized they are more comfortable than the cross trainer sneakers that I usually wear.     • Great Shoes at a Great Price

I always have trouble finding shoes that are comfortable, and I'm very pleased with these, and all my Keen shoes, for that matter. They have a wide toe box, which is an absolute necessity for me. They're very comfortable right out of the box. All I had to do was remove their insoles and insert my orthotics. I checked the box marked Fit as expected, but that's because I have followed the advice of other Keen shoe reviewers and ordered a half size larger than my normal size. I now have 5 pairs of Keen shoes and got a half size bigger for each of them. I'm not sure why this is necessary, but it saves me the hassle of exchanging shoes that will be too small. These shoes list for $145, and I don't know how Amazon can sell them for less than $63 a pair, but since they do, I just ordered a second pair at that price. (I purchased Dark Earth/Mulch, size 9.5 regular - other sizes and colors might be more expensive). ... show more

I bought these for my dad for trail walking and general day use. Months later he still comments fairly often just how comfortable these are. The material was apparently pretty awesome from day 1 and didn't really require any break in. After nearly 6 months these leather uppers on these show very little wear and are holding together great. The outsoles of these shoes are thick and have awesome grip and like the uppers are still holding together fabulously. I always appreciate Keen's wraparound "clog" type toe for extra protection from stubs and abrasions as well. These seemed to be perfectly true to size. ... show more

Item arrived on time; the only thing I noticed is that the surface was a little scuffed. My guess is this was from a previous return, but it also could be the "look" that Keen was going for. And I wanted to keep them and don't care about scuff marks, so definitely happy and would order again.

I need a wide toe box on my shoes, and I end up getting shoes that are too large otherwise. Keen shoes have a good sized toe box and still fit to size in the other areas. These are great for wear with jeans all the way through khakis. I do a lot of travel overseas, and this is about the only shoe I need to take. Also, the sole wears very evenly, and the leather also is fairly resistant to scuffing. I wear these all the time- to work, to walk the dogs, and during my free time. Comfortable shoes. I have bought 4 pair in the last 3 years but laces are way too long such that you must double tie them to keep from tripping on them. I have to buy shorter laces at $5.00 each for them to be safe.

I have a 13ee foot with some hammertoe issues. It’s alway a struggle to find a comfortable shoe that fits. These are plenty wide. Bought a pair for casual wearing, the.     • This is a very stable shoe to walk in if you have a balance problem.

This shoe is a little stiff at first but after you break it in it is very comfortable and stable. For a walking shoe it looks great. The bottom of the shoe has great traction and would be good also as a hiking shoe also.
