I’m truly not understanding why everyone says order up a size? I wear a 12 in Nike, 11.5 or 12 in brooks, just for reference. Listening to all the folks who said order a half to full size up, but not trusting it, I did. I started with a size 12 and they were huge! I then ordered a an 11.5 and an 11 just to be safe. Long story short, the size 11 was perfect. I can wear darn tough or Smartwool light or medium weight hiking socks and still have room. I also tried them on with a full cushioned crew and they were still fine. I don’t like my toes anywhere near the end of my shoe so believe my review when I say these run large compared to your sneaker size. I also gifted the 11.5’s to my son who wears anything from a 12-13 in sneakers and they were plenty roomy for him. We just did 10 miles in the hocking hills with no blisters and virtually no beak in needed. ... show more

I walk 8-10 miles a day at work on concrete and asphalt and these boots have kept up with me thus far. I have 4E wide feet and these boots while a little snug still fit great. The water proofing is great keeps feet dry as advertised. My only real complaint is my feet sweat a lot and feet do get very warm in these boots just bring extra socks and change them out during the day. I will buy again. ... show more

No break in period and no problem on the first hike. Light, supportive, roomy toe box, breathable, waterproof and comfortable. Note- The soles do track in a lot of dirt and mud that does doesn’t fall off very easily. Could use better design sole to makes it easier for muck to fall off while walking.

I got these for my partner who does not hike (I do) for a trip to Bonaire (a scuba diving trip, but I wanted to hike the peak of a mountain, about 600 ft up/176 meters, nothing crazy). He LOVES the Targhee 3 mid waterproof boots. I sized up a half size because I didn't want him to get blisters (I have heard these have a break in, and experienced that myself, but he didn't experience any break-in discomfort (also the price for this color & size was on sale tbh). I know Keen boots work for me because I was a field biologist and an avid hiker. He likes them so much he bought the steel toed work boots (which he says aren't as comfy as the hiking boots). He says they're the comfiest shoes he's ever worn. I personally go for another brand in women's boots but have tiny feet and I'm a woman so... Anyway, great boots for the price! ... show more

Got these to wear to work in a manufacturing environment. I'm a big fan of Salomon boots and found these to be just as comfortable and slightly lighter. Can wear these all day long and they provide good enough support to where my feet don't hurt. Would recommend

I like these boots though I don’t have much choice because of the size of my feet. They are comfortable and supportive. Waterproof version works well for shallow water, rock hopping stream crossings and snow. I also have a pair of non waterproof low tops for summer use. Seem to have good traction. Husband works on roofs and the shingles eats the bottom of all his work shoes. Don’t know if he’s gonna test it on roofs but he has wide feet and he got a regular 10.5 chestnut, a little lighter than expected, but still nice. he loves the semi arm supports and the width of the toe box. Will update if he decides to test the durability of these. SIDE NOTE: he normally gets Columbias but he killed those in less than 3 weeks on his last pair.
