Weighing 15.87 oz / 499.9 g (per shoe), made with durable, waterproof leather and featuring a moisture-wicking lining, the KEEN Men’s Targhee 3 Low Height Waterproof Hiking Shoe is built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. KEEN products are consciously created using a natural, pesticide-free probiotic-based technology called Eco Anti-Odor for breaking down odor in sweat, PFC-free water repellent (in applicable styles) and leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries. I own four different styles of KEEN footwear, and this will be my third purchase of this particular style. As long as they keep making them, I will be a forever KEEN customer. I've read some of the other reviews and haven't had any issues whatsoever with poor quality and wearability. In fact, the opposite. I wear them daily to work, easily 9 months out of the year, and hike in them frequently--never had any issues with the soles giving out after a year or less, mine have lasted almost two years each time and they are rigorously tested. Can’t go wrong with Keen. Comfortable and good fit. Nice to have a shoemaker that offers wide widths. Use these for everyday and hunting in warmer weather. Suitable for both.

These shoes have lots of grip in the soles for hiking. The shoes run small so order a half to full size larger if wearing a heavy sock. I did find the shoe to be stiff but I assume with wear it will become more flexible. The upper part is a heavy duty, sturdy leather looking material, it is well stitched and all pieces are uniform. These are a great shoe. I like them for the wide width and they are my favorite brand for this type of shoe. This is my 3rd pair. I have 2 of the high top version of the Targhee 3. I wore them hiking trails for several days, not wearing a pack, and walking the neighborhood with my dog. I really do like these shoes. They are VERY comfortable right out of the box with no break in period needed. I definitely like that these are wide as it provides good stability hiking along moderately challenging trails even being a low top shoe (but if you’re looking for full ankle support on rocky or steep terrain, you’re looking for boots, not shoes). I actually use these at least 4 days a week walking around the city and hiking in moderate terrain for landscape photography (although, admittedly I tend to use boots more for landscape and nightscape photography, but use these too when I know conditions aren’t going to be too gnarly.
