I bought these boots for a winter trip to the Mt. Hood area in Oregon. I ordered my normal size of 10 1/2 D. I need shoes with a wide toe box, so I'm always a little concerned about buying on-line, but these were just right for me. I wore them for a week on snow and ice in temps ranging from the low single digits (F) to just above freezing. My feet never got wet or cold. exceptional winter boot.the only thing i did not like is that is has a different footbed than all my other keens and bothers my ache a little. inserts should solve that problem.

These boots have agressive thread and fit snug at first. But they break in easy if you wear them often. Water doesnt penetrate but if you are outside for a long time, your feet will get cold. Just wear some thick socks and you will be fine. The speed hooks convenient but are kind of annoying at the same time. The speed hooks get caught on the laces, and the yellow pull tabs. One time the rear yellow tab got caught on one of the speed hooks of the oposite foot and I fell. Nice boot though. ... show more

These boots perform well in cold weather over extended periods of time. Spent a day walking through snow and ice and I never had any discomfort or cold. I highly recommend these boots.
