These are terrific hiking boots! I am a very basically experienced hiker; living in Florida doesn’t offer many opportunities. So I was in desperate need for my trip to Switzerland. I looked for several days and lucked into finding these, at the time more than 60% off in my size. So the value was fantastic. I explored the reviews and went against my own rule of not buying shoes I have not tried on first. I am extremely glad I did. The reviews will tell you how comfortable these boots are, and they are accurate. I felt extremely comfortable in these, and my feet never felt fatigued, even after hours of walking trails with very few breaks between. Size is subjective but I did find they fit true to size, and agree with other reviews they were require no break in. The reviews from more seasoned hikers’ blogs recommend these are not meant for above the tree line. I was well above the tree line, and walked through boot-deep snow and on ice. I slipped on the ice a few times while on my way to Bachaplsee, but never felt uneasy or unsteady. I was concerned my feet might get cold given the sneaker-like material over most of the cap, but with good Dickies crew socks, this was never the case. I had zero issue taking them through the snow above the tree line. All in all, I can highly recommend these boots. They are stylish, comfortable, well made, and for all the reasons you might want to support a more independent shoes brand and their commitments, these are very impressive hiking boots even at their regular cost. These shoes are fantastic! Great styling and comfort. I'm on my feet all day as a high school teacher, and these "hiking boots" are part of my weekly shoe rotation with me usually wearing them at least twice each week. Each day in the building involves some stair climbing along with walking and a lot of standing. Normally I wear a size 10.5, but I bought size 11 as they were on sale and significantly discounted. The shoes run true to size as the size 11 is slightly long for me. It's not a problem and I'd rather have slightly roomier shoes than too tight. Lacing is easy and taking the shoes on and off is a quick process. I've had these shoes for over two months and they've shown virtually no wear. They are durable and look great whether you wear them with pants / jeans or shorts. I'm definitely going to continue wearing them throughout the summer and next school year. ... show more

These shoes are comfortable out of the box. The toe box isn't as wide as other Keen boots I own, but it's still wide enough for me. Grippy tread. Plenty of heel cushion, though the rest of the sole might not protect from bigger stones on a trail. It's fine for the types of trails I hike. Ankle support is good, no heal slippage like some have reported. Padding on the tongue of one shoe rubbed my ankle. I loosened the laces in hopes it will flex and soften. So far, so good. I ordered a 1/2 size up because I've found the KeenDry lining takes up a little room, especially the Keen NXIS EVO mid boots. These fit perfectly in length. Got them on sale, good value. Quality boots that look nice in town or on the trail. Happy with my purchase. ... show more

I work 12-hour shifts and these have been some of the most comfortable work boots I’ve purchased. I’m on my feet for long hours, and they stay comfortable throughout my shift. I only use them indoors, so I can’t speak on how they perform outdoors, but for my work environment they’ve been great. Very comfortable, supportive, and well worth the purchase. Wore one day and the top bracket broke off. Returned, very disappointed in this, we usually love the KEEN product line, have purchased other shoes before and no issues, not sure if it was just a fluke, but made me have to go to store last minute to have shoes in time for trip. I purchased these hiking boots for my son (age 11) to wear on adventures with Scouts. They fit fine and are comfortable, but he has fallen multiple times because the lace hooks on the inside of the boot will catch on the other boot and make him trip. We will remove these hooks and hopefully he will stop tripping! ... show more

These are very good shoes. Lightweight and comfortable. Not heavy duty but good for trail hiking. Mildly water resistant. Not waterproof. Comfortable in cold weather have not tried them in snow or ice. Good value
