Features

  • Folding Grapnel Boat Anchor: Perfect for small boats, kayaks, canoes, dinghies, paddle boards, and more. Whether you're anchoring for SUP yoga, jet skiing, or kayak fishing, this versatile anchor ensures stability and reliability on the water.
  • Complete Anchoring Kit: Includes a folding grapnel boat anchor, 40FT durable rope, buoy float, D shackle, locking carabiner, 50 zip ties, and a convenient storage bageverything you need for a secure and hassle-free anchoring experience.
  • Two Weights Available: 1.5LB (0.7KG) for shallow waters up to 20ft, low flow and rough ground, and 3.5LB (1.5KG) for depths up to around 100ft, moderate flows and most ground types if used with chain - this is the most common size used on a kayak.
  • Zip Ties Included for Anti-Snag Anchor Setup: Attach the rope to the top eye of the anchor using a small zip tie as a "weak link." Under normal use, force runs parallel to the anchor, minimizing stress on the zip tie. If snagged, move up-tide or up-flow to change the rope angle. A few sharp tugs should break the zip tie, freeing the anchor. This simple, cost-effective method is the most popular anti-snag setup.
  • Upgrade Marine Grade Rope: Upgrade to a premium marine-grade rope with a high-strength polyester core, offering a superior 1,936 lbs breaking strength compared to inferior polypropylene's 1,058 lbs. Designed for durability, it features excellent UV and abrasion resistance, ensuring long-lasting performance without breaking under stress.

  • Just what I was looking for!
Color: Red (1.5 lbs)
We own several different inflatables for use on our local lakes and rivers. If a breeze comes up or the current is moving and we just want to stay put, it’s nice to have an anchor on board. Last fall I had the misfortune of flipping the blue inflatable kayak (don’t ask how) and losing my folding anchor as well some other equipment. Grrrr…. As I’ve slowly replaced the lost equipment the last thing I’ve needed to replace was the aforementioned anchor. I saw these Moclear kayak anchors offered in both 3.5 lb and 1.5 lb sizes. I already own a 3.5 lb anchor and I decided to go with the 1.5 lb Moclear for a few reasons. First, it is obviously smaller and easier to store and manipulate (especially for my wife). Secondly, in most cases we are just trying to hold ourselves on one spot in light current/wind while we fish or eat lunch. If the wind or current is really moving neither anchor is going to hold on a smooth bottom unless you include a relatively heavy chain…which defeats the purpose of carrying a small, light anchor. Even if the breeze picks up, I can drop this anchor into submerged brush or into heavy rocks to keep me in place. To me these small anchors act more like a folded, weighted grappling hook, than a heavy hunk-o-metal. Speaking of using this in the rocks, I like that they included zip ties so I can rig the anchor to break away from the neck and be pulled up from the underside in the event it gets hung up (see photo for rigging. The 40’ rope is generous and much better that the 25’ rope that came with my previous anchor. The sliding ring allows you to “lock” the flukes either up for storage or down for use. In addition to the anchor, rope, and zip ties, Moclear includes a “D” shackle, a float, a locking carabiner to hook up to your boat, and a nice carrying bag for the whole she-bang. All of this comes at a very reasonable $20. ... show more

  • Great compact kayak anchor
Color: Black (1.5 lbs)
This anchor is perfect for kayak fishing in places where a small anchor will do just fine. Its rather compact size makes it easy to pack and store, and I can easily recommend it; however, I want to note the following to help set expectations: - I still consider this to be somewhat of a budget option. The anchor is of similar quality to others I own, and the nylon cord is as expected, but I expect to need to switch out the bow shackle at some point, the carabiner is fine but definitely not high end, and the float is pretty much just a pice of hard styrofoam—I anticipate it lasting a while, but it doesn’t feel like it will hold up to significant wear and tear over time. If you’re a weekend kayak warrior or only occasionally drop an anchor, I imagine this will all suit your needs. I only seldomly drop an anchor, so this is great for me. - The anchor does not come secured to the rope, and the package doesn’t come with instructions. I don’t consider that a problem—if you need to, you can easily search online for how to best do that (I use an anchor hitch, which is secure and easy to tie). But I mention this because I know that some people can get annoyed when a product doesn’t come fully assembled out of the box. ... show more

  • What's knot to like? Just know your limits, watch videos on the anti-snag and do a dry... snap run.
Color: Silver (1.5 lbs)
Anchor/Grapnel kit for small boat Vine review. Brand: MOCLEAR. This 1.5 lb is probably just what you need for your kayaks and canoes. See videos about the zip tie anti-snag set up to likely save you any difficulty in freeing this anchor in the vast majority of stuck situations. But only if you follow directions before frantically wrapping your anchor rope multiple times around an unseen object! Tip: Perhaps you should practice the intentional break of the zip tie, while on ground, that is a part of the anti-snag process. You can afford to waste one zip tie and it will help you to understand how this works. Whole trees with branches underwater can always make things difficult! Definitely look at the many videos on Stop Losing Anchors, a lesson for life. I very much appreciate the ability to “lock” the flukes/prongs folded in, like for storage, or extended. But on some bottoms, I can see where locked open might not always be the best way to go, especially when needing to use the anti-snag routine. Feel free to say I’m wrong! • Very handy, SMALL anchor for inflatables, kayaks, and canoes
Color: Black (1.5 lbs)
You will want a small, lightweight, and NOT SHARP anchor for your inflatable watercraft, and this fits that bill! This thing is SMALL, but that's a good thing. Imagine heading out onto the lake with your paddleboard or inflatable kayak and wanting to just jump in the water to cool off for a bit. That's great, but if there is any wind, you'll quickly be out there on your own and swimming to shore without your watercraft. Fold this anchor up, and it easily stows in a drybag or backpack to keep your inflatable from getting away from you. It also doesn't hurt my inflatable kayak when I just let it ride on floor. Even if it doesn't reach the bottom, the drag will be enough when just hanging in the water to keep that inflatable from getting away in all but the stiffest winds. The included line is a decent double-braid that is plenty strong for the size and of this anchor and any vessel it might hold. Add a rode made from a 4ft length of 3/16in chain or even a 1lb weight about 4ft from the anchor to significantly increase the holding power. The price is also right - Good buy! ... show more
