Karting interests me but I didn't know how to get involved beyond the local indoor track. This book delivers on its promise, guiding a newcomer to the sport. It provides a lot of useful information that I didn't find elsewhere. You might want to start by reading the last few sections of the book first. These describe how to find resources to get more information in your local area, and describe what to look for at a pro shop, in arranging a test drive, at an indoor kart track, and at a kart race. If, like me, you have found the many kart types and competition classes difficult to sort out, you'll find the first few sections very useful. I expect that the sections on equipment and tools will help me prioritize purchases. They also give pointers on how to economize when first starting out. ... show more

This book was the first piece of comprehensive, organized, detailed information that I was able to find as a brand new karting dad. The book has very little useful information. Anything in this publication will be learned in 10 minutes of Goodland, and still it just isn't terribly useful info.
