Description

For 30 years, Kapro has been making precision measurement tools for professionals to weekend warriors with an innovative twist. We believe in producing intelligently designed products and delivering them with outstanding customer assistance. Our reputation stands on our innovation and cutting-edge designs. The Kapro 340 Postrite fits most standard posts, pipes, and signs and can be used in plumbing, sign installation, post leveling, and fence building. It "clicks locked" every 15° to adjust to a range of pipes or posts. Attach the 340 Postrite via magnet, elastic strap, or hang hole. This level has 3 brightly colored cylindrical vials, including 2 horizontal and 1 vertical, to provide clear and accurate readings. Can the 340 check a flat, level surface? Yes, the 340 can adjust to 180°. However, if you are looking for high accuracy, you might want to check out an actual level like the 985 Apollo. Does this product come with a strap? Yes, it does. Can the 340 level T-posts? As the 340 adjusts, it could probably work with standard t-posts. We would recommend supporting the fit with its strap as well. What size posts will it fit? We recommend using the magnets or hang hole if the post is over 2X2. Larger posts, like the 4X4 or 6X6 are not suited to using the strap.

Haven't had a chance to use it yet but my Irwin broke so I needed a new one. So I'm willing to try this brand out it looks pretty decent

    • On a hinge, opens full °, magnets, see company pics
Style: Postrite - Magnetic
Haven't used this much; stuck it to side of sheet metal angle: nice magnets. Used it opened 180° flat to level a couple surveyor's tripods last week - quicker/easier than a torpedo level. Stars given for vertical use and tripods, in comparison with other brands, price point: all in store competitor post levels I've seen are fixed, not hinged. This can invert on hinge and magnet into a metal angle. ... show more

    • Accuracy of level.
Style: Postrite - Magnetic
When you wrap it around a 4 by 4 post it doesn’t stay square to the post and you don’t get an accurate measurement. I had to hold it with my hand and not use the elastic band that came with it.

    • The magnets & strap are a HUGE improvement over my old one. Sturdier, also.
Style: Postrite - Magnetic
I've used a cheaper one for a couple years until it broke. This one is a huge improvement! I love the magnets that hold the level in place while I fasten the strap. And the strap is SO much better than the rubberband type strap on my old one. This one seems sturdier, also.

    • NOT worth the money.
Style: Postrite - Magnetic
The product description claims this level “click-locks every 15°,” provides “clear and accurate readings,” and can be used on posts of any diameter. It also claims it’s “secure” and “compatible” with standard posts, including 4x4s. That has not been my experience. When this tool indicated a post was level, my professional level showed the bubble off by at least 1/4 — in both directions. That’s not a minor tolerance issue. That’s flat-out inaccurate. A post level that isn’t accurate defeats its entire purpose. The listing also highlights the elastic strap system as a secure way to attach to posts. The strap does not fully close around a standard 4x4, which causes the unit to sit unevenly and shift. Because it can’t tighten properly, it throws the reading off. “Secure” is not the word I would use. I even attempted to modify it by screwing it directly to the post to eliminate the strap issue. Even then, it would not consistently hold true level. That tells me the problem isn’t just the strap — it’s the tool itself. I’m not a first-time DIYer experimenting with posts. I’ve installed plenty. I bought this thinking it would speed up my workflow. Instead, it added frustration, wasted time, and required double-checking everything with a real level anyway. For a tool that advertises precision and professional use, this one misses the mark completely. In my experience, it does not perform as claimed and is not worth the money. ... show more

    • Works fine for being plastic
Style: Postrite - Magnetic
It works like it should, I just wish it was metal instead of plastic. I accidentally pulled it apart one day, but managed to get it back together.

    • Small but easy to use.
Style: Postrite - Magnetic
Wonder how your going to do that job yourself? This is a great tool to strap to the post. You can look at a glance. Very accurate. Great level.
