I really like these shorts. I normally wear a size 10, and at the time of writing, on the high side of that 10. I ordered a 10, and they fit about like the picture, if not slightly more snug. I would say they are true to size. The material is really nice for the price point. Not overly stretchy where they lose shape, but lets you comfortably move around without the clothing constricting you. In true board short fashion, there is a Velcro waist closure supplemented by a shoestring tie. I might switch out the string color for some pop. These are not lined, so light colors may show what's underneath when wet. For women who are emphatically pear shaped, I could see that the waist might be a little big. It fit me great. If your Velcro is coming apart when you sit, you need to size up. The Navy blue color is beautiful subtlely slighlty faded dark blue. The Velcro pockets on the sides aren't huge, but functional, which usually is a big pet peeve of mine with women's clothing: decorative useless pockets. I wouldn't trust your valuables in the water with them tho. And lastly, bonus...these make my butt look fabulous! Maybe it's just how they fit or where the seam is, or all those squats and elliptical time, who knows. I'm ordering more. ... show more

I love these swim shorts. I do not own swim suit bottoms, I hate them. These work perfect. Great for summer & to swim in or water sports... lightweight, quick drying, has the liner so easy to wear in the water, comfortable & flattering and goes with any top. Very well priced. I have 2 pairs of these in size 6, which fit and look great as long as I'm standing up. When I sit down, the weird velcro on the front tears open when my little belly pooch pushes against it. So I bought a 3rd pair in size 8. These are too big and a little frumpy, not flattering. At least they are comfortable when I sit down. I am athletically built 5'2" 135 - 140 lbs. ... show more

The shorts are comfortable and have a good amount of coverage. The two is too small in the hips for me. The four is too small in the waist for me. My waist is 27 inches and my hips are 33 inches. The materials that the shorts are made of are a good and comfortable material. I liked the ties in the front. The ties only give a little bit of adjustability. Very decent swim short, I love that they do not have the side crop , very decent , great for postpartum tummy as it does not have a front elastic. The laces could be shorter or even better , they could be just elastic. Just purchased my 4th pair.

These are comfortable board shorts, however sizing is inconsistent. I bought a 10 in black and navy. The black fit, the navy was basically a size smaller. I returned the navy 10 and ordered a 12 which fit just like the black 10.

    • Nice item but INCONSISTENT SIZING!

The GOOD... I will say first that I like these shorts. They are a thinner, more flowy fabric than some board shorts I’ve owned, but I think many customers would like that. They’re pretty and serviceable, and the green I chose is as seen in the picture. The BAD... The sizing seems to be inconsistent. At first, I bought a pair in size 4. The 4 was slightly too large for my daughter, so I decided to try a 2 instead, thinking they would be perfect. When she tried on the 2, we were surprised to find that they were even more loose (i.e., larger) than the 4! We compared the two size-by-side, and lying flat, the size “2” truly was just a bit larger than the “4” in the waistband—maybe 1/4” to 1/2.” I carefully checked the inner tags to make sure it wasn’t just a packaging error, but they were clearly labeled by the sewn-in tags, and the 2 was definitely larger than the 4. Unfortunately, though, it leaves me unable to tell other buyers whether the shorts run small or large—I don’t know which was one in error. A 2 that runs too large, or a 4 that runs to small? In the end, we kept the 4 and tailored the waistband. ... show more
