The two bird bath pieces arrived in good shape and were well-protected by the packaging. The "concrete" material is pretty soft, so you need to be somewhat careful when moving things around. I'm pretty sure if I dropped either the bowl or the stand, or if the bath were to be knocked over, things would chip or break quite easily. The local birds seem very happy with their new water source. Little birds, big birds, everyone seems to visit fairly regularly. I have to refill it every other say or so as the larger birds splash out a lot of water. Very entertaining to watch. A weekly scrubbing keeps things from turning green.

I found that other bird baths were too deep for the small birds, and / or too smooth /slippery for them, Glass or glazed surfaces. This is a perfect shallow basin depth about 1 1/2 to 2 inches full, and the surface is concrete / resin rough enough that the birds seem to have no issues with landing and splashing around in it. I saw that other Amazon reviewers had issues with either not getting both the top and the bottom in their shipment, or arriving and it was damaged. Mine was delivered all in one box, ~ 7 lbs. in weight, clearly marked Fragile, and packed tightly in thick Styrofoam. So I had no issues with damage, chipping, or loosening in transit, and top and pedestal bottom were all there. Both the pedestal bottom and the basin top were neatly packed together. Again some reviewers of this product said assembly was hard! The pedestal bottom has an opening at the top, and the basin top has a square butt end jutting out form the bottom of the basin, that literally goes into the pedestal top. (A square peg into a hole). Do not know how much easier it could be. I went with 4 stars on weight only because Assembled it weighs 7 or 8 pounds which may be heavier then some may want. Works for me since it is not prone to the wind tipping it over. I placed mine near my bird feeder and close to the bushes and trees and birds are already stopping all day. For me it was the perfect fit and the perfect bird bath.

It’s good looking and seemed sturdy when I set it up, but the next morning the top was toppled over, base was still upright, and the top/bowl had been chewed up all along the edges. I’m guessing raccoons, we have plenty. Birds love it they came right away, a blue Jay and catbird. I reassembled it and other than chewed up edges, it works. Have put it with tall Hostas so chewed bits aren’t too obvious

I looked for 1 week on-line at many different sellers...i STARTED TO GET TIRED OF SEEING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER...Then I looked at Amazon! Amazon had a huge selection and I found exactly what I was looking for! I wanted something that would not blow over in the wind, naturally heavy enough, yet I did not want it to be difficult to move and here it is: Lightweight Traditional Flower Diamond Pattern Birdbath, Weathered Concrete! I was looking for that perfect bird bath that had a very wide bowl...and not very deep so all birds no matter the size could drink and bathe, especially concerned with the fledglings at this time of year. This was PERFECT! 1.5 INCHES DEEP AND WIDE! Perfect height, too! Very pleased! The boxes arrived very quickly and the baths were packed VERY well and protected and everything arrived in mint shape! (I ordered two of them and both perfect). I cut open the box and removed the two pieces, bowl and pedestal, and put put one into the other and in 30 seconds was filling with water! My birds will be happy and I will get great joy watching the birds feel like they are at a Spa! LOVE IT! WORTH EVERY DIME, GREAT VALUE! Would recommend to anyone! THANKS

Birds absolutely adore the wide shallow basin, which provides ample room for multiple visitors and a small solar fountain. And, the pollinators seem to be happy with the brim ledge too judging by how many show up to take a drink. However, as great as the basin width is, it also makes it very unstable. The place where the bowl rests on the base is too narrow and shallow to support the basin. Pressure applied to the outer ledge of the bowl (such as a cat, large squirrel, raccoon, etc trying to get a drink or a small child leaning/pulling on it) will easily (too easily) cause it to tip and fall (mine has already developed a large crack after only 2 falls). This is almost the perfect bird bath, but needs a redesign to address how easy it is to topple the basin off of the base.
