I've only had this a few days but it has provided SO much wonderful relief! It hurt pretty bad the first time I used it - my head and neck were really locked up. The recommendation is to lay on it for 10 minutes but no way I could have done that the first day. I can now go a little longer each time, and I am noticing so much more movement in my neck and shoulder. It's very lightweight, but solidly made. I was a little hesitant because it doesn't come in sizes and I wasn't sure it would fit my neck correctly, but I am 5'8" and it works fine. It's actually pretty large overall, so I'm going to have to figure out something else for travel! I am really surprised at how much this tool has helped me. I love it!

I REALLY want to LOVE this but I am a small, short person and this is obviously made for a giant. However, with practice and use of a yoga mat or non-slip pad, I can use this effectively. The effect is amazing and I don’t feel the need to go to a chiropractor or massage as often —I need to save that money for other things. I highly recommend for posture as well as pain issues. I just wish it was smaller.

I have been dealing with all kinds of headaches, migraines, cluster headaches, tension headaches for years on and off. But whatever want to call it, my head hurt while awake and when going to sleep. I was taking pain relievers like candy. You know just dealing with it. I never went any further than self medicating. Anyway, I bought this item thinking I’ll return it if it doesn’t work, so no big deal. BUT I haven’t had a headache since using this! What a game changer. It feels so nice not to deal with head pain! It’s not comfortable but that’s the entire point! It apples pressure to the head and neck and that’s that. I would try it !

I purchased the purple version several days ago and use it without the insert, for more flexibility. The spikes are too hard and sharp for me, especially the longer ones. In order to even use it I wear a thick fleece jacket with the hood up, for padding. I also find it challenging to place the neck device correctly under my head/back. So far, I've been using it for 2-3 minutes at a time, to get used to it. I'll continue experimenting with it for at least a week or two, because I can see potential for it fulfilling its purpose. Time will tell if it's working for me or not. (edit - After using this now for another couple of weeks, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this. It may possibly benefit those who find very forceful & intense pressure helpful, but not for someone who prefers a more gentle approach.

I’ve developed a problem with stiffness at the top of my neck/base of my skull. I got muscle relaxers, went to a chiropractor, did some physical therapy—this thing is what had the best effect. My neck stopped having a noticeable problem for a while, so I wasn’t using it. When the problem returned, this thing saved the day again. This is what I learned worked from using it: 1) lay on a firm surface with the top knobby bits right at the bottom of the skull. It feels pretty darn uncomfortable (not painful) at first 2) after several minutes, it becomes less uncomfortable. This is how you know it’s working. I don’t stay on it for more than 5 minutes just because I become bored. 3) remove it from under you gently by rolling to one side to get it out, then stay laying down for another minute before getting up. Do this as-needed throughout the day each day until it stops bothering you. I can’t say how well it works for other types of stiffness (e.g., shoulders, lower neck) but for a stiff base of the skull, it works great for me.

I'm having some ongoing pain in my neck/shoulder so tried this. I'm 5' 4 1/2," the exact height of the average American woman, and struggle to feel like I can get the nodes lined up right. If they feel they're in the right place for my shoulders, they feel wrong at the base of my skull, and vice versa. Suspect it would be better for taller people. Unclear whether the skull part should go under your occipital bone or on it. No instructions given. The foam is rock hard and painful but like others say, after you're on it for a couple minutes you get used to it as your body softens up. I do feel like this device has the potential to make your pain worse as well as to be healing, depending on if you have a node in the wrong place. I wrestled over and over with whether I was going to return it but I let the window pass, figuring it wasn't bad to just have it around in my self-care arsenal.

I have a neck injury thanks to a chiropractic adjustment gone wrong. I have been in huge amounts of pain, done hours of physical therapy without much improvement. When my neck and occipital muscles spasms I get horrible migraines. This cushion had made such a DRASTIC difference, it really is unbelievable. I use it every day and multiple times a day. My range of motion on my neck has increased, my neck and shoulder muscles are less tense, and my migraines have been reduced. When working or watching netflix, I place the cushion on the wall and lean on it while sitting. I can not recommend this cushion enough. It has helped so much! And to think I almost returned it because it hurt the first time I used it! But then the next day I was able to turn my head to the right for the first time in weeks! Really works!
