I originally bought this as a gift for my grandmother last year because she said that cooking on her vinyl floor hurts her back. She liked it but said that it was hard for her to walk on, so she couldn't use it. It's been in my kitchen ever since, though, and I don't have an issue with it. The material is thick and comfortable, but it's not too thick that it's hard to walk on for me. The mat is easy to wipe up. My only complaint is that on a tile floor it sometimes moves around.

These are my second orders of this mat. I had a green one in front of my stove a few years ago and melted it with a hot pan that fell on it. I tried another set of mats, but they did not do the job. These KANGAROO MATS are the best quality and decently priced mats. They do not slip, are easy to clean, and look great.
