This fit my Kamado Joe Classic II perfectly. I was able to comfortably fit 3 x ~3.5lbs pieces of beef total on the KJ using the grill extender for smoking (1 on extender and 2 underneath on main grate). There was room for a 4th piece of beef if needed on the extender. The 3 legs are slightly indented so it rests on the main grill grates without it sliding around.     • Very convenient
Used it once and it worked great. Was able to sear 6 burgers on the grill and put them on the top rack to cook. Also added 6 hotdogs on the rack with them and was able to stsrt 6 more burgers before the first batch was done

    • Well built, but you have to get it placed just right
I used this tonight, and it really adds to the available grill space. The trick is to line the three legs up correctly with the regular grill grates. Each leg has a small half moon shape that fits around the center support of one grate and the crosspieces of the other one. You are pretty limited on how you can set it up, since it has to sit on both of the regular grill grates. You have just enough room to flip chicken breasts or thighs, but anything much thicker, and you’ll want to think about pulling the expander out, putting it on a safe surface, taking care of what’s on the main grates, then putting the expander back. If not for the shaped feet, I would worry about it sliding off or falling, but I bump this regularly when I’m flipping chicken, and I haven’t had an issue. I would definitely recommend having some high temp gloves handy, if you do have a problem, though. It’s solid, made out of thick stainless steel, and it will hold a fair amount of weight. It is better suited to longer, slower cooks, since there’s a layer of food between the expander and the coals, but it comes in very handy with my Classic III. ... show more
