I have been working on adjusting my Giant Liv, step through bike to fit my 5'3" frame better. New, shorter crank arms really helped. I didn't previously know they came in different lengths, but boy what a difference. I think bike makers, even "women's bike" makers assume we're all 5'11" and want 170mm cranks.. While changing out the crank arms I took a good look at the thick, heavy, but narrow width peddles that came standard and thought I could do better. I looked for something thinner, lighter, but wider to better accommodate my out-turned right foot. A little more traction couldn't hurt. I came across these and one of the reviewers mentioned they too had an out-turned foot and were happy with these peddles. Bingo! My only trepidation was concerning the little spikes for grip, but they are removable if I didn't like them so I went ahead with ordering. They were shipped quickly and well-packaged. They are definitely an improvement over the original clunky peddles. They included the thin shims needed and were easy to install. There's also a little wrench for removing the spikes if you want to. I am surprised at what a difference they make. I found I really like the grippy little spikes. They aren't uncomfortable at all through my light, low hikers that I always wear biking. They give just the right about of grip which is especially helpful when take off from a dead stop or pushing hard. The bit of extra width is just enough to make my leg/foot more comfortable. They are also a bit lighter than the OE peddles, if weight is a factor for you. I really like the silver tone ones I got. They look great with my purple frame. The thinner profile give me a bit more knee ease than the OE ones. I'm happy with at the quality, look and feel of these K PEDC peddles. I would recommend them to anyone. They will make riding more enjoyable.

These won’t win any weight weenie prizes (they weigh in around 350 grams (sorry for being less accurate but they’re already mounted and that’s the best I remember) which is about an ounce heavier than listed. For what it’s worth, I can’t remember the last component I got that was lighter than what the marketing folks said it was. But, nice price to kinda counter-balance the weight. No issues mounting them. Clearly marked right-left so you’re not trying to thread them in the wrong way. A pedal wrench is definitely a help. Or if you have the hand strength to turn a shorter all-purpose skinny 15 mm wrench, no problems for you :-) Some might like the raised lugs. But the last set I had dug too deep into my shoes (I was rockin some never-goes-outta-style Chucks) and I nearly bought it at a light cuz I couldn’t get my foot out quick enough, being used to riding with a different, harder soled shoes. So first thing I did was remove all those little grippers. Six per side, 24 in all for the pair. There is a small wrench included for that (nice touch!) as well as several extra lugs. And a couple very thin spacer washers. I’m realizing as I write this I failed to get a thickness on those. I’ll guesstimate they were in the 0.25 mm range, give or take. We’ll see how well the sealed bearings hold up, and how round the pedal is where the bearings are pressed in. I’ve seen too many bike repair videos where a component is too out of round, which allows the bearing’s outer shell to slip, and start grinding away the almost always softer material (aluminum or carbon fiber/epoxy) which makes for a PITA fix if not caught soon enough.

I received these K-PEDC bike pedals in October 2023. These pedals are nicely constructed and I didn't notice any defects or ill-fitted parts in the pedals I received. Rotation of the pedals on the bearings was nice and smooth with no wobble or any play at all. I used these pedals to replace the OEM pedals that came with my Trek Marlin 6 bike. These K-PEDC pedals are a very nice upgrade over the OEM pedals. The pedals do require the use of an allen/hex wrench and there is no way to use an open end wrench to install/remove them. The allen/hex wrench was not included with the pedals I received. The pedals do come with some extra pins and a tool to install/remove them which is nice. I did notice 2 pins that were slightly loose on my pedals and I used the included tool to tighten them down. There are also (4) metal washers included with the pedals. At first I installed my pedals without the washers, then I realized I was supposed to put (2) of them on each pedal first and then screw the pedals to my bike. So I had to remove the pedals, install the washers, and then reinstall the pedals back onto my bike. Overall I think these pedals are great for the price point they are at. They look like they will last a long time on my bike.
