  • Amazing product.
Wow is the word that would summarize what i think of this product. For $35, it completely changed the sound of my engine, and the feel of acceleration response. It turned my 2000 ES300 from a tip-toeing Lexus to statement-making V6. At low RPM, it is pretty stealthy. Put the pedal down, and my engine screams GET THE F OUTTA MY WAY. If you have a modified exhaust, this would definately amplify the sound of your exhaust note. This product is worth the sound alone, but smoother acceleration and no more air filter replacements every 10-15,000 miles? Incredible value! Warning: may cause eargasm. ... show more

  • Drop in, washable filter
If you keep your vehicles until they have six-digit odometer readings which begin with a '2', look closely at washable filters. I've had a few K&N's on various other vehicles, and while I think the MOAR POWAH claims are, at best, questionable, that's not why I buy them. Oil bath filters have better filtration, can be left in-place longer before requiring attention, and best of all, you purchase it once, and that's it. It's like the ultimate in recycling if you don't have waste in the first place. Yeah, they're around $50, depending on application. Four paper replacements cost you as much, and that will get you to only about 80K miles. After that, the K&N is effectively free. This application, for an '05 Cadillac STS Northstar, was drop-in, and it has zero negative side effects. ... show more

  • Long term savings......
K + N air filters are worth getting if you don't mind the wet atmosphere of washing this filter. It will be worth using over ten years easily if washed with their products with gentle care. I had used their products on several vehicles over twenty years !! The performance increase is moderate and worth the cost as long as you decide to clean it at about 20 - 25 K miles. Less restriction provides more power and mileage !!! A strong buy !! ... show more

  • K&N REVIEW, NUMBER SIXTY TWO ZILLION AND 9
12/19/19 ALL STOCK 1999 TOYOTA CAMRY 2.2L 5S-FE 4 CYL AUTOMATIC, CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS APPROVED. 111K ON THE ODOMETER WELL MADE AIR FILTER. NO NOTICEABLE HP GAINS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. MY CAR'S ECU MAY STILL BE IN THE PROCESS OF ADJUSTING TO THE HIGHER AIR FLOW OF THIS FILTER AS MY IDLE WAS A TEENSEY BIT HIGHER AND ROUGHER IN THE FIRST FEW MILES. I ALSO CHANGED OUT THE AIR/FUEL RATIO SENSOR THE NIGHT BEFORE, SO I HAVE NO REAL INPUT AT THIS TIME. WILL UPDATE IF ANYTHING COMES TO LIGHT. 12/23/19- I did notice that upon harder acceleration onto the highway, my engine definitely has a louder, pleasing "throaty" tone. This means I now have a new aural input that "may" cause me to step on the accelerator harder more often than I previously would have. This is surely not a good thing for my old car's gas mileage or engine components, like the head gasket and motor mounts. And who knows what the cops will think of my new found acceration. After all, having been easy on my car is untimately what would make my cruiser last to 300-400K miles. Now, "pushing the engine more often because it sound cool" is sure to take miles from its longvity. Sure, I don't have to step on gas harder, I just want to. Not good! PS, No, I never drive it like an old lady. I always keep up in traffic, but never do I normally hammer the gas pedal like I want to now. ... show more

  • Really gives me more MPGs !
I bought this for my honda accord. I travel in my car for work, nationwide. Every time I fill up my tank, I gauge my mileage. My highway mileage (100% highway miles, using cruise control) before this air filter averaged 33.6 in the winter and 32.2 in the summer (AC on burns more gas of course). I waited until I had a 12 hour drive to install the filter. I started my trip in the evening, no traffic, with the old filter and got the mileage I just mentioned. I was driving my usual 65-70 mph, using the cruise control whenever possible. When I stopped for gas, I switched out the air filter. I drove until the tank was almost empty in order to get he most accurate reading. My winter driving MPG went from 33.6 all the way up to 37.1 ! I was thrilled. The next tank of gas, still 100% highway, got 37.5 mpg. This was on the same trip, so not many other factors to consider. I used the same grade gas, from the same retailer. ( I use a gas card for the discount, so always get my gas from them ) I love this air filter and would recommend it to anyone. ... show more

  • 2001 Toyota Sienna. Did it myself.
A former aircraft mechanic wrote in an online exchange that if I planned to keep my minivan, I should opt for the K&N filter. I finally got around to buying it and then had to figure out how to exchange it. I'm not a car guy! In fact, I can't think of anything that I can really fix. Usually I just fiddle with something until I manage to fix it or I break it, in which case I call a professional. I got on YouTube to find a how-to video. Looked simple enough. So, mine is 2001 model; I think that the YouTube video model might have been an earlier model. There is a hose on the top of the housing that wasn't in the model in the YouTube vehicle so I couldn't just pop the new filter in. In any event, I got the older filter out easily but had to work the new filter in a bit until it would finally fit. I would say that the car definitely moves more smoothly. I hope that it will improve the mileage but it's not a major concern. The main thing is that I can do this myself. A local garage quoted me $214 to install a K&N engine air filter. They quoted $135 for the filter alone; I paid about $46 on Amazon. All things considered, I'm quite happy with this. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
As of now not much of a difference in my car . Car does feel a tiny bit better accelerating bit that's about it.

  • Noticeable change
I just installed it. I know it may be just me. But I definitely feel my car has a faster response and acceleration, better speed and a nice sound even though it is a quiet 2.2lts engine (2001 Camry) I still have to drive it a little longer to notice if it helps with gas mileage. But I can't complain. Great product. PS: some guys say that the filter sometimes is soaked in oil. That is the oil you have to use after you clean your filter, and because it's brand new it has recently added oil. Looks like transmission oil but it isn't. ... show more
