I went with XL based on Amazon's "recommendation" based on my previous purchases. These shorts were bit tight for my liking, but I guess maybe that is the point of them being compression shorts. I tend to like a little bit of bagginess, but these are growing on me. The material stretches nicely and breathes a bit. The pockets keep items inside and not in a bad location, but they will outline vividly with the tight fit in case that appearance matters to you in the gym. ... show more

Then the plastic part that hold against the baseball broke, then a few days later the velcro straps started to spin as well as on stich its self from the strap its self, then today I was just hitting it and the metal Braided wire snapped

These are okay shorts. Quality is good. Comfortable. Look nice. Are plenty functional for what they are supposed to be. Tie string could be a bit more robust... time will tell if I'm buying boot laces to replace this string. Again, these are okay shorts. That said... The regular pockrts SUCK. If you put your phone in these shallow pockets you WILL drop it. I wore these all day today while running errands. EVERY TIME I got out of the car, my phone went flying. It fell out once while getting back in and I slammed the door on it. I understand it has a special phone pocket, but let’s face it, it's not the most logical or convenient place to put it. Even then, the underwear pocket is on the wrong side. Right handed people hold their phone with their left hand... left hand, left pocket. I also found myself having to go back out after I got home to get my wallet that had fallen out. The shallow pockets are my only real gripe with these otherwise nice shorts. Oh, be aware that these are TRUE TO SIZE if not a bit smaller. If you are wearing an "American XL" you had better get a "rest of the world 3XL" or you might find them a bit snug. I wear a 38 jean and like my shorts loose. A 3XL is perfect. ... show more

I read all of the reviews to see what the good and bad was. I am about a 33" waist. I got the large based on what people say and they fit very well. I don't have huge thighs. I'm 5'8' and weigh about 175 lbs. I was concerned about the tightness of the compression layer. I have some other shorts that are spandex underneath and they are just too tight. I wear them, but they are not the best.. These shorts are a lot better. When I put them on, I was really pleased with how the inner layer stays with your legs (they don't ride up), but it's also not tight around your legs. I think the material is perfect for what it's supposed to do. I bought mine on Aug 19, 2022. I wanted to try them out for a few weeks and wash them before I wrote a review. I have worn them at least 2 times per week. I only wear them to run in. I wash them every week. I do wear them 2 or 3 times in a row before washing sometimes because I can just hang them up and let them air out a little. I have not seen any wear or unraveling of the stitching. This was a concern I had, but no issue at all with these. I 100% recommend these. I agree with what others have said about size. They do run a little small, but the Large I got fit me well. I don't really think I would change anything about the size. I just ordered 2 more pair in red and white. I wanted to make sure they were good before buying more. The pair I originally bought was the black with black lining. I appreciate all of the other reviews. I think they were helpful and ultimately, convinced me to try these. I am very happy with these. I hope they hold up for a long time. I'll update my review if I have any issues in the coming months. ... show more
