I’ve been carrying this tote for about ten days now—using it through work, weekend errands, and casual outings—to see how it handles in real life. I’ve owned a few handbags and totes before, so I came in with expectations around durability, comfort, and layout. I will tell you now, I own about 8 other bags made by JW PEI. I love their purses, and dresses. When I saw this one, I just knew I had to get it because it's just so beautiful being this brown! The purse is a shoulder drop, it carries more than you’d expect without looking bulky. It stays close to your side, and the strap on the shoulder didn't slide off for me at any time. I had no issues with it. I’m able to fit my wallet, small makeup bag, water bottle, notebook, phone, and still have room for a few extras. I even managed to get my son's phone in here and his iPad too! The faux suede exterior gives it a soft, elegant feel, while the lining is vegan leather. It just feels simply amazing! I went ahead like I do with any purse I own. and I pre-treated it and sprayed it down. I do that for all of my real and faux purses or shoes etc. It’s stylish without being over the top, which works well with both casual and semi-formal outfits. Might be one of my favorite fall and winter bags! The shoulder straps (non-adjustable) are comfortable for daily wear. They aren’t overly narrow, so they don’t dig in even when the bag is loaded. The strap drop is adequate to let it sit nicely on the shoulder. When my purse had a lot of items in it including full water bottles, I had no issues with the pressure on my shoulder! Because the straps are non-adjustable and non-detachable, you don’t get much flexibility in how you wear it (e.g. crossbody or longer strap options). That may limit style or comfort choices for some users. So if you have issues with limitation on how low the bag hangs or how close to the body etc., not sure if this will work for you if you get what I am saying. Beyond the one slit pocket, there aren’t many specialized compartments for things like pens, sunglasses, or smaller items. If you’re someone who prefers many pockets, this could feel a bit plain. You can always add in a small unit inside the purse, but of course that would take up space inside the purse which then defeats the purpose. The faux suede surface looks elegant, but may attract scuffs or stains more easily than smooth surfaces. Like I mentioned earlier in my review, treat the material which will help you with how long this will last. The value matches the quality of this purse. I love the smell of it, meaning it had no odor to it that was off putting. It has proven to me as being durable.

Just no. Quality is not good, its small and looks like a teenagers bag. It had 4 strap pieces just hanging out the bottom of each handle corner. The bag is thin and flimsy. Im unhappy with this purchase gonna chalk it up as a loss.

I’m a little conflicted with this one. JW PEI always nails packaging, quality, and craftsmanship — no funky smells, no loose stitching, just clean design as expected. But this tote wasn’t what I thought I was getting. The straps? Way too stiff for my liking, and while they look adjustable, they’re not. The bag itself is floppier and smaller than the photos suggest, and you have to manually snap the wings out to get that extended look (they don’t just come that way). Honestly, when it first arrived, I thought the wrong bag had been delivered. If you know what you’re actually signing up for, it’s a decent tote. But I think the listing needs way more transparency — the pics alone set a different expectation.

Ok my initial thoughts - I love this bag. I will say that i was initially disappointed because i thought this bag would be much larger based on the photos. This is definitely something you need to measure out because this and the product listing photos on the Amazon and jwpei.com site are not accurate imo. I would classify this as a small bag, not medium or large. The material is very soft. I love how smooth it is. the leather is also high quality with excellent detailing. The product listing photo shows the bag's sides popped out like wings. I dont really think that's how the bag naturally wants to sit unless you have something inside that makes it take that shape. I usually have the wings folded inwards so it looks more like a drawstring bag in reality. you also have to be careful when you bend down to pick up a child, dog, etc. because there is no zipper. there is a magnetic clasp that works well but it still leaves a lot of room for stuff to fall out, which has happened multiple times to me. i barely keep anything of value in here when i go out for this reason. highly recommend this bag. it's very very cute.

This is such a cute fall tote bag. It has a great designer feel with a very affordable price point for the quality you get. It arrives well packaged in a box and dust bag to store it. The size of the box threw me off at first, because it is small. The bag arrived with the sides tucked into it, so it fit. The overall size of the bag is a bit smaller than I expected, but a really nice mid size tote. There is a single pocket inside, but no zipper pouch. The material is really luxe feeling faux suede, and the strap is comfortable to wear. The logo on the bag is small, a little hardware JW Pei on the top of the tote. The color is beautiful and the rich brown is perfect for fall outfits.
