These are really nice boots, 100% genuine leather, but they run very narrow. I ordered an 8.5 D which I have other cowboy boots in an 8.5 D which fit just fine. I understand that each boot manufacturer's sizes may or will fit differently. I had an older pair (15+ years ago) of these very same boots and I don't recall when I purchased them they fit this tight. I drove 30 miles one way to a Boot Barn and tried on another pair of Justin boots (Canter 11" Western SE7516) and the 8.5 D size fit perfectly. The salesman explained that due to the round toe of the Roper style boot they will fit tighter than a square toed boot. Justin boots are a very fine boot of good quality. Though I don't care for the square toes, they do fit nicely, so I will purchase the SE7516's. Hope this helps. ... show more

Like all my boots, they took about a week to loosen up and fit properly, but once they did they were great. Make note, they are not waterproof. But I rubbed mine down with some mink oil and now they are prefect.

I would not suggest buying this boot on-line until you can find it in a brick and mortar store and try it on for fit. Your normal size will probably not work when you order this style of boot. I have been wearing justin boots for over 30 years and this is the first pair that I have found that was not a comfortable fit from the start. The best feature on this boot is the sole which should provide extended wear for several years. ... show more

Boots arrived nicely boxed up, seller doubled boxed the boots to ensure they arrived in one piece. I've worn Ropers most of my life. They were always my go to boots. These I bought to replace my old Ropers are made of a thicker leather, their quiet stuff and will need plenty of break in time. The rubber soles are nice and should last many years. The only issue is, the stitching. Some of the threads are broken between the sole and leather upper. This is a manufacture defect, they aren't made in the USA, so quality Does not seem to be a factor where they were made. They fit really well, once their broken in I hope the stuff leather relaxes. Would I buy again, only time will tell. I gave them a 4 star rate due to broken, and defective stitching. ... show more
