Tripods are usually find but they can more easily get knocked over and this looks much nicer too. Feels really stable and holds the angle. I bought this stand for my XGIMI Halo projector. I needed something low-profile to sit on my desk in my home office. I only wanted to project content onto the wall next to my laptop display, but just above the pen holder & other office supplies on my desk. This allowed me to get my projector set to the perfect angle. This stand is lightweight, but still very stable. It was easy to assemble and the included ball head has the adjustability I needed. The one slight drawback, is that I haven't found a way to tighten the ball head to the stand securely enough that it it doesn't loosen over time. To be clear, I don't mean the portion holding the projector in position. I mean connecting the bottom of the ball head, to the stand's threaded post. I (obviously) never feel like the projector is in danger of falling off or anything. It just loosens so the ball head itself can rotate laterally. Other than the one issue, this has worked great. I would definitely recommend it.

One of the greatest invention for handheld projectors! its sturdy base helps to keep the projector in place and not fear the weight of a projector will tilt it. I love it a lot. I recommended this item to a lot of friends and colleagues.

I definitely recommend this over a stand up one. I like to camp in my backyard. And the stand up one is really in the way! Easy to put together as well!

I was hoping to use this with at XGIMI Mogo 2 Pro projector. It easily threads onto the bottom of the projector however if you tilt it back far enough so the projector is aiming at the ceiling, the lopsided weight causes the the stand to lift up slightly or even fall over. Meh. If you want to use this for any other use case like a slight angle up or down - I think this'll work just fine.

A bit wobbly nothing to bad, but if it’s in an area that often gets bumped like a coffee table or ottoman then you will have to keep on adjusting the projector. I use it for my Nebula Cosmos and For the price it’s great. It has a greater tilt UP radius than the Neblua stand, but the Nebula stand has less moving parts and is sturdier.
