I purchased this "Julep It's Balm: Tinted Lip Balm + Buildable Lip Color" in the color Canyon Rose. I have very fair skin with cool undertones and dark lips. As a woman of a certain age I find dark lipsticks no longer suit me. Lip colors lighter than my lips look awful. I'm always searching for the perfect medium pink with cool tones. This is close. This is very moisturizing and glides on smoothly. It offers smooth, even coverage. I find this more flattering on me when applied lightly and topped with a light dab of Covergirl Clean Fresh Yummy Gloss in My Strawbooty. I like that this is made with natural products. What I didn't like was the manufacturer packaging. It came in a box without seals and the product itself had no tamper evident seal. It was in an unsealed box and the cap just pulled off. If I had to pick only one lip color product to bring with me on a deserted island - or go on vacation, or to work, or for a Zoom call - currently, I'd pick this one. When it comes to makeup, I'm a minimalist. I want to do the bare minimum, while also (hopefully) enhancing my appearance. For that, this is PERFECT! I loved it so much that I bought a second one to keep in my purse for touch-ups. I prefer a cream lipstick, and this formula is similar to that feel. It's smooth and keeps my lips soft - not waxy, sticky, or dry. It's light and has no detectable odor. It does wear off while eating and easily wipes off, but it's buildable from sheer to semi-opaque and mostly stays put if you don't rub your lips on a coffee mug...or another person. Use a lip liner for added definition if that's your thing. I have dark hair and fair skin with warm undertones, but flush pink (yeah, I dunno). I generally look best in neutral to pinky-neutral foundation and lip colors, and the mauve works perfectly for me. I have a hard time finding the perfect neutral in many lines, but this one gives just enough color while still appearing very natural. Happy I found this! ... show more

This color is darker and bolder than I thought it would be— definitely NOT sheer coverage— more like bold lipstick. I like it but it fades/wears off very quickly.
