My kindergartener outgrew his first training wheel bike, and this is a great second bike. I like that the wheels are much larger (diameter) and narrower (thickness) on this bike. The smaller and thicker wheels on training bikes make it hard for a child to pedal and go fast. Some other observations: 1. It was an adjustment for him not being able to brake by pedaling backwards. This bike can only brake using the handlebar brakes. The brakes both needed to be adjusted, it was way too loose. The fine-tuning adjustments at the handlebar were not enough even at the max setting, and I had to re-tension the cabled for the front and rear. 2. The bike only has one gear so it’s quite easy to assemble and there’s no adjustment required for the chain. The wheels were also straight and true so the spokes were adjusted correctly. 3. The seat comes with a toolless quick adjustment handle. The wheels are not quick-release. They require a wrench to remove, so you can’t repair a flat while on a ride. The tubes use standard Schrader valves for adding air. 4. The front handlebars can be angled up or down, and the handlebar stem can also be raised/lowered a few inches. The bike also has a bell and all necessary reflectors. 5. The kickstand is too strong for a child to use. The spring is so strong that my son needs to kick it several times to get it retract. 6. The paint scratches very easily. Even just placing the bike again a public bike rack scratched up the paint job, which was surprising to me. In summary, this is a great second bike for a kindergartener, after getting off training wheels. It comes mostly ready to ride with minor assembly and minimal adjustments required. ... show more

    • Great bike for youngsters to learn how to balance steer and brake.
Color: Yellow Style: 18 Inch With Training Wheels
This model has hand brakes on the bars for both wheels. Much better way to teach a beginning rider. Handle bar center point has some padding to make it safer. Adjustable handle bars and seat will allow the bike to grow with the rider. Yellow is a great color for being noticed .

I got this for my son (eight) who hasn't ridden a bike very much. So I got the ones with training wheels. It's a good size and well made. I don't know much about bikes do talk about specifics. I love this little bicycle! My son is 3 years old and I’ve been wanting to get him a bicycle with training wheels (a step up from a tricycle). When I saw this bike, I really liked the parent push handlebar so that I can help him while he gets comfortable and coordinated with the pedals. For the toddler that fits about a 3T/4T size, the 14in bicycle was perfect, and the seat is easy to adjust. The bike comes disassembled, but it also includes all the tools you need, detailed instructions for assembly, and a link to a YouTube video to help in the process. It took me a little less than an hour to put it together. The tires feel like they are good quality, and the seat is sturdy. My son is super excited to start riding, and I can’t wait to get him out there on the trail with me! Highly recommended as a first time “big boy” bike… A+!! ... show more
