They are not that shiny, cheap-looking velvet, these are thick, with no sheen to them, and look much more expensive than they are. The fact that these are lined with a neutral colored lining is a huge plus, as I don’t care for anything other than white or beige facing the outside of the house. It is rare to find that, particularly at this price. I love that you have the option of hanging method, as well, via rod packet, back tabs, or clips. The fabric is thick and does the added job of keeping the cold air from coming in and the heat from getting out. They look great too. They appear to be velvet and look more expensive than they were. Beautiful curtains! The quality and feel of these curtains is great. They are soft to the touch but heavy. In the afternoons the westside sun really was heating up our livingroom, but with these blackout curtains the room is a lot cooler.
