This is my second pair of Jousen dress boots. The first pair were black with broughing. This time I ordered the brown cap toe in smooth leather. I usually wear a US 11 D medium width dress shoe. That's what I ordered the first time and they fit great. So that's what I ordered again and I'm not disappointed. They fit great right out of the box. One thing that's changed is the insole. The new brown ones have a noticeably improved insole / orthotic. I noticed it as soon as I laced them up and took a few steps. They have the comfort of a running shoe. They arrived yesterday and I wore them out on the town last night. Very comfortable. I have zero complaints. I gave them some neutral polish and they took a shine very well. I'd recommend the neutral polish as the burnishing on the heel and toe is a different darker color to give the boots a vintage look. If you want to keep that look, a neutral polish will do that and still protect the boots from dirt, water, and scuffs. I also re-laced them after I polished them. I switched to bar lacing on the first 3 eyelets and then used normal cross lacing for the last eyelet (because of the even number eyelet count). All that shows when I'm standing is the bar lacing. The pants cover the rest. It's just something different looking for a more dressed up look. I got these when there was a $30 coupon available. At the price after coupon they are a great buy. I only wear them for nights out with friends and I have 9 pair of boots I rotate through. So these should last me forever. I'm very happy. These are like the photo they showed. They fit well. Feel great . My foot is an 11. So i ordered 11. They feel great, but I'm wondering if the 10 1/2 would have fit well too. These shoes run too large/long. Size is inaccurate. You have to order at least a half size down for a true fit. Leather appears stiff and cheap. Not entirely sure if it's genuine leather for that matter. It seems impossible to buy shoes online since they're never accurate. Tired of returns.

I would have given them 4.5 stars but that was not an option. I bought them for when I ride my motorcycle to church or an event where I must dress up. For that I needed non slip soles, and they worked out perfect. Very comfortable and they get compliments.
