I got this item to use in conjunction with my Mr Heater Big Buddy propane heater. Without the wood stove fan, the normal operation of the propane heater is that heat emanating would be a foot or two forward and then straight up. You can feel the heat rising above the heater. Now with the wood stove fan, in operation, you can feel the heat being blown forward and much further than without... also, you feel no heat rising above the heater due to the fans grabbing all the heat that normally rise straight up is now being pushed forward into the room. Heat is now more evenly distributed with in the room. So it is now less where it is hot at one side of the room and cold at the other end... heat is more evenly distributed. I would recommend you give this a try if you were on the fence about it. Also, the fan starts to spin in no time as it heats up and it is quiet. You have to put your ears up to it real close, 8" or so, to even start hearing it spin and even that it is barely audible. I hope it last.. but only time will tell. ... show more

Great product. I was skeptical at first, but then I tried the stove fan and it has made a believer out of this hunter. The fans are extremely quiet and move the air very efficiently. They are not the type of fans that will blow you over, but I was quite pleased by the way the fans move air around a blind when combined with a heater buddy. They honestly make the whole blind feel much warmer instead of all the heat just going straight up and out of the blind. Wonderful product for the price. Definitely helps circulate the lower level of the house from the stove. By the second fire it had broken in and was humming away. It’s not the same power of a battery fan but it is efficient and effective.

I can not believe how great this fan work's on my wood burning stove. My friend told me about this fan he bought to take hunting for his tent. He sent me the link and I bought 2 fans. I gave one to my friend who lives off grid. He was so excited to get it. He has a wood burning stove. Everyone needs to buy this if you have a wood burning stove. 1 month of use. Fans are actually surprising! At 350-450 degrees they actually move enough air that you can tell they are working. The thermometer is basically junk. Using a infrared thermometer to check it's readings, it reads 50-100 degrees off straight out of the box. For the price,fans are worth it to move extra heat from your wood stove! ... show more

I screwed a metal shelf onto my fireplace, put the fan on top and it worked fine. not very strong but does work well. probably better on a wood stove but still worked fine

    • One works fine and one does not work at all.
UPDATE: For some reason the ability return the unit is authorized until the end of the month. Therefore I am changing the rating to 3 stars. Not so much for the unit itself but for the supplier who accepted a late return. Bought one at the beginning of winter and it worked fine on a Kerosun round heater. Fans turn slow but I was amazed at how well it distributes heat. So I bought another one. Unfortunately I didn't open the package until the other day. Too late for returns. New one does not work at all. Bring it up to heat and nothing. If you spin the fans they will try but won't run for more than a second or so. I find that placing a cheap box fan in the opposite corner of the barn circulates the heat just as well if not better than the older fan that works. So nice idea but fails in execution. ... show more
