I had been using Spiker, which is like glue. My hairstyle does not demand that strong a gel. The Joico JoiGel Styling Gel #8 was perfect for me. It has a nice scent, which Spiker didn't.

Holds my hair when I do a low bun, clean girl look. The only drawback is it holds a little to much to be labeled medium hold. If you touch it too much or add to much gel you will get hair flakes and it will be hard and crunchy to the touch. Overall, it works , just use sparingly

I have been using this for over 20 years and I love it. I put it on after my shower with hair partially dried lightly moist. I rub it onto hands in desired amount, then stroke it through hair to desired application and shape hair with fingers and hands. Then I blow dry hair the rest of the way. My hair is set all day, won't move at all. The only thing to mess up hair after would be running fingers through hair or brushing it. THE BEST gel on the market. ... show more
