So the tag is controversial... like the gentleman in the video review, I was able to pop it off with no problem. Had I never seen any of the complaints in the other reviews it's probably something I would never have noticed, but I can acknowledge that it took a bit more force than you might expect to need for removing a tag. Again, I suspect it won't be a big deal for most people, but hand strength might be a factor and the manufacturer probably should've gone another route. As for the product itself, my toolbox is in storage and I want to hang some pics, so I needed a cheap, functional level. This one got the job done, so for the money spent I've got no complaint. YMMV ... show more

Not only is this torpedo level dirt cheap, it won't leave marks on your walls as (in my experience) all metal levels do, eventually. Being made entirely of plastic is a great feature. It's accurate as far as I can tell, agrees with my other 3 torpedo levels. Why spend more for something that's going to mark your walls? ... show more

Hard plastic which is not a deal breaker for 3 bucks. The worst part was remembering the end hanger which was on so tight it nearly broke the plastic housing. Use 2 pliers to pull apart, don't use the level housing for leverage as it will break

Like tape measures and 10mm sockets I keep misplacing levels. So I purchased these as they are inexpensive and general purpose so if I lose one its OK. I really need to get a couple more just in case. I do want to comment on the packaging which is a hard plastic tab not easily cut)and not easily removed which i guess is for display mounting. Forget scissors or box cutter. I used metal snips because it is that hard and leaves a sharp edge. it does not want to "pop off" the mount which is like one of those security tags so it sat on my desk until I decided to go wrestly with it. For a level this cheap it does not need this level of hassle. So FYI keep sheet metal snips and a pair of pliers and maybe a work glove handy to receive it. ... show more

Despite all the reviews to the contrary, the tag was simple to pull apart and snap off on the one I received. The level itself seems to be of perfectly reasonable quality for the price. Okay, the color of the liquid could be more visible, but unless you're working in near darkness, this torpedo level should be fine for basic tasks. ... show more
