Description

Speed meets precision with Johnson’s new Johnny Square MACH-1 rafter square with level vial – a must have tool engineered for professionals' providing exceptional durability, versatility and accuracy. Our innovative Smart Mark Cutout delivers speed and accuracy with its easily identifiable markings, cutouts and notches for layout, scribing and marking cuts. Marking spaces are positioned to layout 1X, 2X, 4X and 6X lumber in widths from 1" to 6" as well as LVL's. Additional slots are positioned to mark 22.5, 30, 45 and 60 degree angle cuts. V-notches are located at each roof pitch to help accurately align your pencil when marking common top cuts. The frame has 1/16" scale graduations for precision and measures all the way to 7-1/4" to reach the full width of a 2x8 material. Scribe notches for ripping lumber are positioned every 1/8". The 1" wide multifunctional heel with replaceable level vial serves as a torpedo to indicate level and plumb and allows angle or roof pitch measurements on existing structures. The heel also features 1/16" scale graduations on the bottom and both sides offering maximum versatility with rapid and reliable measuring. Hi-visibility EZ-Read™ graduations and numbers are laser etched deep into the surface to resistant fading, scratching or deterioration, providing long-lasting results even under tough and demanding work conditions. Crafted from solid aluminum with CNC machined edges and vial holder for ultimate precision and accuracy. Very legible, multiple functions and a lot of cheat sheets squeezed onto this thing. It is basically the ultimate square. Especially at the price point. I only returned it in exchange for a squijig cause I like the ability to change the level heel with a 3/16 heel depending on what I do.

For the price, this is one of the best speed squares available. I’ve got several options that range from budget to high quality. This one lands in the middle but the value is much greater than the cost. Happy to have it in my tool belt when needed and to extend lives of the others that cost 3x.

So I used to have a torpedo level and a speed sauare in my pouch, my bags are already heavy with fasteners and other tools so I wanted to free up space and make my bags a little lighter . A friend at work had something similar to this square and I wanted to try it so I bought it. Glad I did, their are measuring areas all over the square not just in the faces and I've been using the square in ways I didn't think I could because of that, great buy! ... show more

Love it. Very accurate (checked versus Starrett carpenter square and various angle gauges). I prefer white on black labeling over my Swanson speed square (little level is nice in a pinch too). Tons of markings for almost any situation.
