A derm recommended this for my perioral dermatitis, it made my facial skin worse as far as clogged pores and breakouts. Sulfur is great for inflammation and bacteria, gentler and more natural than benzoyl peroxide. It did however improve my back acne, and after my antibiotics, it’s been able to keep it clear! Effective! It does have a stronger sulfur smell, it will make your wash cloths and towels smell like it if you wash them all together. I make a good lather and wash my back and chest for about 2-3 minutes, and then I let it sit for at least 2 minutes to penetrate. I’ve been using the bar about daily for 2 months now, and it’s only half gone, then again I’m only using on small areas. ... show more

I first bought this soap from my dermatologist. I love it so much for my face, I bought another from Amazon for in the shower. I have rosacea, but I am in remission and rarely have a flare up. This soap has kept me from having a flare up and it is very comfortable on the skin. It is good for black heads and pimples. I haven't had a pimple since using it. I never heard of sulfur soap and came across this looking for something to help my sensitive, oily, acne prone skin. This is now taking the number one spot as my skin remains calm even when I’m on my period. And no more cystic acne on my cheek! It’s not drying. I wash once in the morning and could probably add washing at night as well. There is definitely a smell while using the soap but nothing extreme. At age 48 I still was getting acne. I also had a weird hard rash. Went to the drs and they recommended this soap because my insurance wouldn’t pay for the expensive stuff. Very effective. This paired with a gel and ointment my skin is soft again.
