  • Good but only for a few months
These were my 2nd pair this year. Pros- they are light weight, charge lasts a good amount of time, and they are affordable Cons- as others have said, the charging port is in an awkward position, the cable that came with the 2nd pair is only about 3 inches long, the worst thing is the charging port goes bad in a short amount of time. I bought this pair in July and it's only October 8 and already the port has shorted out on the headphones. This happened with the first pair I had but I thought it was a fluke. Nope, the same thing happened with this pair. The port worked fine one day and the next day it wouldn't. The first time I thought it was the cord but it worked on other things. I guess for $20 you can except years worth of use. ... show more

  • Overall a great lightweight headset
Update: having used these for awhile I see a problem with them. I noticed when I first received them and went to charge them. The cord is quite difficult to plug into the charge port, which is on the right bottom speaker. Well it's gotten somewhat easier, at a cost. The right side already doesn't swivel freely as it did at first. I'm sure this is from having to press the cord under the swivel bracket so hard. That part may need a redesign. Still like them, but am concerned about durability now. The only con I really have is no way to control volume from the headset I dropped one star for that. Other than that the battery after initial charge, about 2hrs was still at 80% after 8+ hours of use. I like the built-in equalizer presets. Just had to figure out that when it says three button presses, it means very quick presses. It also came with an extra set of black foam covers. So for the black set I have with orange covers I can change if I want. Sound quality is quite good, far better than the wired headsets these imitate. I've had many sets from around early 1980's to early 2000's. Excellent performance and for around 20-25usd a good value. ... show more

  • Not bad for what they are, but could be a lot better…
There aren't many options for retro 80's style headphones with bluetooth. In fact, I found only two, but they were really the exact same product, just with different branding. I picked the JLab brand purely because I didn't like the look of the other brand's logo. My use case: I wanted light-weight bluetooth headphones for watching TV in bed at night without disturbing my partner. I didn't want to wear earbuds or big bulky headphones, so I decided to give these a try. I can tell you that they are far from perfect, but they work reasonably well for my intended purpose. They paired easily with my Samsung OLED TV, and the sound quality is decent enough for TV watching, although I'd choose something better for music listening. Again, these aren't bad for what they are, and there really is no other option on the market today for retro 80's style headphones with bluetooth, but they could certainly be better. Here are the cons: (1) The charging port and the LED are in a stupid location. They are recessed in the channel that holds the ear cushion, so you have to pull the cushion out of the way to access the port and see the LED. Repeatedly pulling the cushion is certainly going to stretch it out over time, so this is not a good design. An even bigger problem, is that the channel is not wide enough to accommodate many micro-USB plugs, including the one that came with the headphones*. When I tried to plug it in, it felt like it was going to break either the headphones or the plug, so I didn't force it. I ended up using a different cable that I had at home with a thinner plug, but even that one barely fit the channel. I'm thinking I might try to resolve this problem by sanding the plastic with my Dremel tool, to make the channel a little wider around the port. It's such a glaring design flaw, it's hard to believe this product underwent any sort of testing before it was released to market. *Note that the cable that comes with the headphones is blue. Apparently they previously offered these headphones in blue, and although they are only available in black with orange cushions now, they must have a surplus of blue cables left over so that's what comes in the box. (2) The max volume is not as loud as most other bluetooth headsets, so if you plan to use these in a noisy environment, this might be a consideration for you. For my use case, watching TV in a quiet room at night, they are more than sufficient. (3) The EQ options could use a little improvement. In my opinion, the "Balanced" setting does not have enough bass while the "Bass Boost" setting has too much bass. I'd really prefer something in-between these two settings. And the third option, which they are calling "Signature", boosts the high frequencies too much for my taste. (4) No volume controls on the headphones. Volume can only be controlled by the source device. Not a big deal for me, but might be an issue for some. In my case, I’m happy to use the TV remote to adjust the volume, but it seemed worth mentioning, since bluetooth headsets typically include volume buttons. If I were using these for workouts, I'd probably be annoyed at having to pull my phone out of my pocket every time I wanted to adjust the volume. (5) The headphones only have one single multi-purpose button, so you have to remember whether to long-press, short-press, double-click, or even triple-click, depending on what function you want to do. And if you're listening to music, you might be disappointed to find that the headphone button can only skip forward to the next track. If you want to repeat a track or go back to a previous track, you have to pull your phone out of your pocket. ... show more

  • Is this broken?
I wanted these for lightweight headphones to wear at gym. Don't like heavy over ears and the in-ear buds bother me when in for too long. Both were problematic making extra noise in my ear when running. Just got these and sound is good (use the extra bass setting). Only problem is the right ear produces a shaking sound when I run or jump, but perfectly fine for walking around and doing other exercises. I think I'll keep them, but wondering if other users have succesfully used these for running without the shaking sound. ... show more

  • Confortable, with a couple of negative comments
The product is very light, and is pretty good to use if you wear glasses, since it do not press the lenses against your head. I did not want it for noise cancelling, and the volumen I can control from my cell phone. I miss a case to transport it in my backpack, since it looks fragile. Also, the energy cable has to be installed below the cushion, so you have to move it, and it has be strongly pushed into the hole because the fitting is not the best. ... show more

  • I like that the headphones are old fashioned but looks cool with bluetooth.
The headphones are loud from my smartphone. When I use it on my mp3 player they are not loud enough. It sounds mid tone. I still love it. At least the cushions aren't leather because when they get wet in the rain they start chipping. I don't like that I have to replace the leather ones over and over again. ... show more

  • They look great and versatility. I'll explain.
These are great for me. Comfort is on 10. The sound is 7, the sound needs an explanation it sounds clear if you are alone in a room it sounds great. This next part might be a pro or con, they don't cancel noise. I like to walk around in my town we don't have sidewalks , therefore it is important that I hear my public surroundings while I'm in my private world. If you need to have conversations and you need to hear your music they slip around your neck, and you can hear them both!! I see this as a safety thing. I love they simplicity is good. Tip JLab !!!! The cord that comes with it socks it is way to thick you will need a thinner one so e of you young one might need to order yourself not such a thick plug. JLab!!! I will pay a dollar more for a decent charger it would cost you at the most .15 American pennies more. Either way great product. Thanks... ... show more
